I created a game with my friend, and I’ve found it hard to promote my game (link below).
I’ve tested my game with a lot of players, and they seem to like the concept of the game. My game also shows up (currently) as the fifth result when you search “Art Museum”, and twelfth for “Museum”.
However, not many people have been finding my game, and it’s been hard to promote it using Sponsored or User Ads.
Any tips for promoting my game? Anything I should change to make it more appealing or findable?
1st, you should create a proper thumbnail rather than just game images. You can use a software such as Canva or Photoshop to do this.
2nd, as I have said in many of my previous posts, advertising in the traditional sense on Roblox does not work very well. Use sponsoring and advertisements in 3rd party platforms and in Roblox groups for more effectiveness.
3rd, make your game unique. Give it a quirk or two. Maybe you can steal a sculpture, vandalize, or be a security guard. Monetize and create gamepasses. Expand.
Hope this helps friend, reply if you need some more help
There have been many posts about game advertising. The most common ways are:
Twitter
Influences
Games like PR, or Developer Hub
There are many good videos that highlight great ideas. The best thing you can do is have good eye-catching icons/thumbnails. Try also having your friends play, and give feedback so you know where to improve.
You should create a basic thumbnail in Canva and use a different software like PS or getpaint.net (I cannot get this url to work I swear) to apply special finishing touches like flare and brightness.
I believe other developers have already pointed it out, but because the icons and thumbnails of the game looks slightly boring, with just pictures in-game. They are factors which discourage Players from playing your game.
As for advertising, there are both Roblox advertisements and social media. Roblox advertisements may need you to spend a substantial amount of money to be shown to Players, as it’s a competition within who bided for an Ad on that day.
For social media, I suggest making short-video content to summaries why Players should play your game in a ~30 second video, which can help them stay on your video long enough to be interested and review your game.
I really appreciate everyone’s feedback! @Deb0rahAliWilliams, I tried making a video for my game, but I couldn’t get high resolution recordings of my game…any screen recorder recommendations for Roblox?
Install a freecam (ctrl+p as it is often known) script in your game, keybind it to something that won’t cause problems, and use a software like OBS or, god forbid, BandiCam to record the freecam footage. This will provide a nice overview of your game and give a gist of what it is about.
For added brownie points, upload it to YouTube and set it as a thumbnail (the best games have on-site trailers) and watch the player count rise.
