Game's player count on group page only counts starting place

Here’s from EBR’s page:

Can confirm from the dev stats that there are more than 5 players in the egg hunt.

I think this is caused by the group page showing the place’s player count instead of the game’s total player count.

So I recently switched from having a bunch of separate forts in my group under different games to having a single core game. The main issue I’m having is that the player count on the group page always shows up as 0, and the playing shows up as however many people are in all the games together.

These were taken at the same time.

Would be really nice to know why this is happening and if it can be fixed.

Group and game for reference:

but this happens for all group games. For instance, @AbstractAlex’s SwordBurst 2 has 7,527 playing according to the game’s page, but the group only displays 258 in-game. It only shows #players in the start place on the group page.

Would be great if this were fixed so that the the total playing is accurately shown on group pages.

The amount shown on the group page (as of what I know) is the total number of players in the START PLACE of the game. They never switched it to the whole game entirely…

Currently as a developer, when using universes to create games, the groups page will only display the player count from the starting place.

On the group page it shows we have 32 players. Technically we do have 32 players… in the starting place.

But in the entire game we have 255 players.

Hopefully this can be fixed soon, thanks!

As in the title:

Group games

And for example, Recently Played:

The player count in group games is just the one from the starting place, which usually is pretty low,

and the player count from any other sorting counts all of the places of the game.

Not much else.

I can confirm this is an issue.

During my featured time, there would be around 200-400 players at any given time in my game. However, on the group page, they would constantly be displayed at a maximum of 20 players.

This should be fixed as you don’t get a quick & accurate number when you visit a group page, which could hender a game’s players if a player sees the player count is super low.

I’ve had this issue for my games too, it’s quite a big difference. I hope it gets fixed.

Still happening, hope it’s changed soon. The “lower” player count is turning away players causing us to lose revenue :pensive:

This is still happening consistently. For example, on TGAR’s Alderaan, it says there are 58 people playing. But there is only 1 server and that server has 28 people. https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/470418184969912320/683066467859955916/2020-02-28_16.41.06.gif

Not sure but it may just be a ‘‘Private/Vip Server’’ . Most of the time people like to host trainings/tryouts for the group so they need a Vip server so there won’t be any outsiders or/and they will be able to get admin.

Yes, 100% and sometimes it says “0 playing” when in reality there’s like 100+ playing, the playing count, specifically on group games can be buggy

I believe this might’ve just been fixed? :open_mouth:

This seems to be the case, it’s working correctly for me too.

TGAR has a server reserve system for training so they don’t use private servers.
