There is no point in adding a translation example. People who don’t speak a translator’s language won’t be able to understand it. But I do agree that it is difficult to check if a translator is legit. There sure are no limitations on what one can add to their portfolio, this ranges from various English certificates to a bachelor in linguistics diploma, but most of the time people don’t provide proofs and are likely lying. Therefore, a translation example will not serve as evidence of a person being a good talker who is fluent in a language other than English.
