Help with Push Effect

I’m creating a lightsaber system. When a player hits another player, I want the player hit to move back minimally, like 0.2/0/4 studs to create a realistic effect like the saber is ‘pushing’ you backward directly opposite the impact angle. How can I create this? I’ve looked into body thrust and it’s not what is needed because it applies force based on friction and sometimes players could be in the air, meaning either too much or too little force can be exerted. What can I do?
