what did this last part exactly mean. Like, yeah, when you do work you get paid, but it’s a trade of a service (your time, effort, and skills) for money. Like I get what you’re saying but the logic would mean that everything is free lmao.
this is a very helpful and constructive reply that answers his questions, thanks for the input
some people just write like this, even if it looks dumb.
I mean, technically it is free money-wise, but of course, it costs time, like everything else in this world. I mentioned this because OP said they live in a country with a weak economy so this might be their best approach.
Writing a list do not mean it is ChatGPT, you know…
Let’s say that to community ressource developers
Listing features is usefull, it make the post more readable and cleaner for everyone. At least it’s better than huge paragraphs.
True—but when the list is super structured , weirdly relevant
, and suspiciously polished
… yeah, it’s probably ChatGPT.
yeah and all the emojis as well
Yes, but I wanted you to enjoy reading.
Yes, I really wanted others to enjoy reading this, and my native language is not English, so I wanted it to be written in a way that was easy to understand and with emojis, even if there was a problem with my English.
I see, if you remove the emojis it says its AI, but if they stay it doesn’t think it’s AI. probably because emojis show up when pasted as like
and whatnot and it isn’t trained on that.
Yeah, whoops, sorry.
Please stop this topic of you using GPT chat. Please help me instead.
Yeah, but I don’t have any hope for this because it’s hard to get an international card and my 6-day salary of $20 is at best, and the time I spend on “pls donate” and these games would be better spent on developing my game or finding a YouTuber.
Thats the neat part, you dont. Roblox isnt gonna promote your game unless it already makes a crap ton of money or you are a big company
Analyitics
The short answer, look at the analytics page for your game. Those metrics, try to get them up. Retention, engagement, etc.
If you want the nitty-gritty details, I recommend reading the primary sources (stuff from Roblox themselves). One of these would be this: Discovery on Roblox: Past, Present, and Future Vision.
Though now outdated, I made a resource on My Research on the Roblox Algorithm & Discovery for Experiences/Games. It includes a Works Cited section with primary sources. Unfortunately, some pages have been updated or redirect you elsewhere. I should’ve figured out how to archive them. Anywho, still the info generally can be helpful.
Game Dev Knowledge & Skill
You can also further your knowledge in game development to make higher-quality products/games. I have a playlist of videos I’ve found helpful in gamedev, in multiple disciplines, over my 5 years in game dev: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLnd33tzRlu1HPQlCmaKmcQqbgLMdwbuYO
Digital Marketing & Game Trailers
Learn digital marketing, literally, how you advertise. That, in addition to a focus on marketing in video games specifically.
Trailers are a big thing. Note that on Roblox, you have to pay robux to upload a trailer for your game page, in addition to many restrictions, like only being 30 seconds.
ye i took those out when i tried it out
Bcs you work hard, doesn’t mean your game deserves to be on the top.
You need knowledge and proper understanding of what makes a game to the top, in order to apply that knowledge and actually make a popular game.
For example: You can put all the effort you can to move a boulder, but putting the boulder on wheels is the best way to move it.
Applying knowledge you have in order to be the best.
I never advertised my experience back in 2022 yet it still gained a decent player base of 15-25 players concurrently. I’m not sure if it’s roblox’s old algorithm that caused that
Hey Amindez, I tried your game and I think that I can explain why it didn’t blow up, so to speak.
I started it and was not instantly hooked by any gameplay loop. There was a long loading screen with no context behind it that would make me stay. I would work to create a gameplay loop that is apparent, fun, and consistent and then look to get it out. It looks fun but there’s nothing that immediately says “yes, I want to play this” when I load in
I put your words into Google Translate, but it didn’t translate very well. Do you mean that you didn’t get stuck somewhere in my game and that the loading speed is slow and I need to add a skip to it?
He means it wasnt very entertaining and the load time was a bit long, and it doesn’t make you want to play that much.
