How could I make a portal effect?

  1. What do you want to achieve? Keep it simple and clear!
    I would like to make a portal that you can see through and it shows another world in workspace. ALSO i want to be able to walk through it into the other world and also I would like to make an npc that follows you around and if you go into the portal the npc will follow you through the portal.

  2. What is the issue? Include screenshots / videos if possible!
    I have no idea where to even start with this, I can script but portals is just so confusing

  3. What solutions have you tried so far? Did you look for solutions on the Developer Hub?
    I have tried DevForum, YT, etc

This is a big project and should be broken into smaller parts.

Here is a link to a portal post that goes in detail:

They’re is a post in there that supports people walking through the portal.

Now if you wanted to make a NPC walk through the portal you would probably code it so if the player was to be whisked away (As if they teleported) then the NPC would teleport to the player

I’ve already checked that out and its good but the transitioning isnt smooth, I might use it though, ill keep it for later

@2112Jay’s The Portal - Roblox seems to be uncopylocked and it is one of the smoother transitions. Maybe try looking around that game.
