How do I fix this with F3X Building Tools?

I have no idea when this started or what’s causing it, but recently building tools have broken in my game. It’s strange since it’s only this game, Six-Stud Standard Building, and not all players are experiencing problems.

It also happens to the F3X plugin when in this place. Everything is fine in my other games. I believe this issue is also appearing in some of my friends’ games.

UPDATE: Using an older F3X model fixed the tool, but it’s still broken for the Studio plugin. Might just be a bad update.

Try reinstalling the plugin? This really isn’t a Roblox issue and you should contact the creator of F3X.

Replaced the F3X model and reinstalled the plugin, nothing happened. Since it’s only in a few games I assumed that Roblox changed something that’d break it.

I am the creator of a future Building Tools project, and also experienced this issue. Hopefully, I managed to get it fixed.

The problem is actually caused by a method used by F3X to definy the size of the dropdown that broke with Roblox updates. To repair the issue, you need to:

1. Open the UI folder and open the Dropdown menu.
2. In the :render() function, you’ll find a Layout element at the very end. Replace this element with:

                CellPadding = UDim2.new();
				CellSize = UDim2.new(1 / math.ceil(#self.props.Options / self.props.MaxRows), 0, 1 / self.props.MaxRows, 0);
                FillDirection = Enum.FillDirection.Vertical;
                FillDirectionMaxCells = self.props.MaxRows;
                HorizontalAlignment = Enum.HorizontalAlignment.Left;
                VerticalAlignment = Enum.VerticalAlignment.Top;
                SortOrder = Enum.SortOrder.LayoutOrder;
                StartCorner = Enum.StartCorner.TopLeft;
            });

Instead of using the buggy method that gives this as a result, the new function will do as we know which size the UI will be.

Otherwisely, if your dropdowns elements are smaller, that means your MaxRows option is bigger than the integrity of your options. For now, you must change the MaxRows option to the number of options when experiencing this.

I gave this solution in another topic. Your best bet, which is slightly evil, would be to insert the F3X plugin, modify what I suggested you, and then save the files as a .rbxm and put it in Users → [YOURNAME] → AppData → Local → Roblox → Plugins. If everything goes well, it should work.

I am sure SSSB uses an older version of the F3X Building Tools, hence why it works.
