As the title implies I want to hire someone to make realistic assets for a game I working on, but I don’t know what a fair price is. Here is what I need them to make.
(Bed, lamp, gas tank, medkit, energy drink, RV, Bigfoot, raw steak)
how much should I pay them for making these assets?
Depends on the complexity of the mesh and the complexity of the texture. A detailed, sculpted mesh with 20,000 triangles and a 1024x1024 texture will probably run you a bit of money.
(Also, if you need those meshes optimized, that will probably cost even more…)
do you think it would be more beneficial for me to make the models myself, and pay someone to texture them for me? I can probably model them, but I’m awful at texturing models.
The problem with modelling it then paying someone else to texture it is that unless you set up good UVs, the artist will have to do additional work (meaning it will cost even more). I’d say either make the whole model yourself, or pay someone to create the whole model.
That being said, if your budget is low, you can always make a basic version of the game ising simple models. Or, if you’re willing, Roblox made a new AI 3D model generator.
Yea, I may try to find some good texturing tutorials. If I don’t get it I’ll just hire someone to do them. The models don’t need to be to realistic but they do need to be optimized so how much would that be?
I can make all the models I think except Bigfoot and the RV so how much would those be?
