I’m not too sure on how I should make the main building in my coffee group, I made a start but I’m not sure on it, please put some ideas below!

It is too small.

I suggest looking at pre-made cafeterias by successful groups.

Here is one I made last year.

Alright, thank you.

What @Lv100DominusUltimus said, make the building bigger, but also have it’s exterior stand out from the environment, and it’s general surroundings.

Hey there! I’d probably say throw in some materials or textures to give in that realistic look, in my view, I find that the majority of cafes / restaurants on this platform are quite generic in terms of low poly etc.

All the best,
Jack

Besides other suggestions of size and material, this building would look excellent. :grinning:

Hey @hoIpless!

It’s definitely a start, and I like the use of the current materials on the path and fences.

There’s many ways to approach completing the main building for you coffee group.

Some suggestions I have are:

  • Since you’re using low-poly trees, I’m assuming your going for a low-poly aesthetic. In that case, I suggest you use very smooth colours, along with the material smooth plastic. (If you aren’t, I suggest using realistic textures.)

  • Look up references of both roblox built examples of cafes and restaurants, and real-life cafes and restaurants. These will give you a better in-sight as to what to include in your main building.

  • Also I know this isn’t relevant to the build itself, but the low-poly trees could be a tad bit bigger.

How I usually start a build is by getting reference first, then doing the build. By that I mean:

  • Planning out size
  • Seeing if a low poly look or a material-made build would be better suited
  • After that, maybe even get some more reference if that wasn’t enough

Again, depends on how you approach the build. But I’d go like this, it makes things easier and less complications are met in the future.

Hope this helped in the slightest!

Try to make the building look a little bigger and not so cartoonish (as long as you don’t want it to be like that). If you have Paint 3D (not plugin or anything, its an app) , you can create new text fonts to give your Coffee an unique look.

  • Get Paint 3D
  • Click New
  • Go to Canvas on top of your screen
  • Turn Show canvas Off
  • Click on Text on top of your screen and make sure its in 3D state
  • Click on screen and mess around with the fonts
  • When you’re done, click Menu and Save as…3D Object
  • Save the file type as FBX and name/place it as your wish
  • Go to roblox studio and introduce a mesh part, then insert the Mesh ID of the 3D Font you’ve just made.

Overall, your Caffee has a great potential. Don’t give up!

Shouldn’t use free model trees, unless I’m mistaken and you made it.

I made them. 30charsssssssssssss

Hi @hoIpless, there are a few things you should do before and while you build.

  • Brainstorm. Think about the structure you wish to build.

  • Sketch your designs and make a basic blueprint. You should do this so you know what you are going to build. You can look up google references, but don’t copy every detail.

  • Build a base. What I mean by building a base is to add the floor first, and then you can build up from there once you are done with the entire base.

  • This stage could be done in an order of your choice. You could either finish the walls or build decorations. Both need to be done obviously.

  • Lastly, the ceiling. This should be completed after the interior.

In my opinion, this is the best way to go about building but you don’t have to be completely serious about this. You can, by all means, do something different.

Here is a great tutorial:

In conclusion, you should start out your coffee shop with ideas on what you want to build, start working on a base, add decorations and walls, and then add your ceiling. The same goes for every structure and environment.

By the way, if your structure has multiple stories, the stages above also apply.

Glad to help if I do, and good luck
