Guys Im currently making a fps game and I got a design problem, I can’t figure out how should my character hand will be place on the screen, and proportion it will take and it’s proportion, like I want to make a realistic shooting game and it will have the sway mechanic like operation harsh door stop and those body cam games but I don’t know how should my viewmodel looks like like should I show the right hand, or how big the viewmodel relative to the camera, can I have some tips and rules on how to design a viewmodel and maybe can I have a sketch for the viewmodel thankyou very much,
Im all good with the coding and the mechanic I just don’t know how it should looks like, like Im between the choice of how big it is, should I show the right hand and how the left hand should grip the gun, it just the design problem not the coding problem
those viewmodel looks good it got the problem that’s it isn’t the style I want, like I want a hell let loose + body cam style but I can’t find the preference for it
To be honest I don’t see the point in viewmodels, you should just make the whole character proportionate to the arms. Kinda like arsenal. Otherwise, you can use the actual bodyparts and set their local transparency modifiers to 0. That would look even better imo. But I am currently on my break for scripting so I’m not sure if any of my ideas would have unintended consequences.
