I would recommend starting with really small and simple projects. It helps you build a habit of finishing things, it lets you practice and experience every stage of game development, and it builds up your portfolio. You can always look on the forums, or elsewhere online, to learn better ways of optimizing or otherwise better methods for whatever you’re looking at. There are so many tutorials online for everything you can imagine. Just make sure to learn and not just copy things. Lastly, due it for fun. Don’t turn a fun hobby into a job, even if you want to do it for a living. That’ll come naturally in time, but worrying about that early will kill your motivation.
I will try this, thank you very much. I’ve had a habit of starting big game projects and then stopping because they feel overwhelming or I just couldn’t script it.
