UPDATES FOR OUR FPS PROJECT
Heyhey! A lot has been changed since I first made that post above! Our community grew over three thousand members, and our project has went through major changes!

MAJOR INFORMATION

  • Our game will be called Duality.

  • Our game will release in September. (Towards the end of the month)

  • ONLY FFA (free for all) will release in September.

  • The 5 v 5 game modes will release a bit after.

  • This game will be Mobile & Xbox compatible later on.

  • Our three main modes will be FFA, Casual and Elo.

  • Elo consists of ranking points that matchmakes you with other players around your elo points. You gain elo points from winning games. This is more for competitive play, but it can only get competitively to an extend.

  • For FFA we will be releasing 7 guns. This will consist of snipers, shotguns, pistols and the rifles.

  • We will have gun skin bundles, each skin will cost 750 - 950 robux. Keep in mind, we are planning to add trading one day.

  • When 5 v 5 mode comes out, you will be able to select your own character with unique abilities. These characters are called Personas. We released our first Persona leak the other day. His name is Grisha! (see the scene render below to see how he looks, this is SUBJECT to change!!!)

GUN MECHANICS

  • You will be able to wallbang through walls. We are using real physics to make realistic wallbanging. Material, angle and how far and how close you are to the wall has a factor the mechanics of the wallbanging.

  • Hit reg is very realistic as well. Bullets will travel through any 3d object realistically (meshes, unions, spheres, parts etc). They can also penetrate players so you can get collateral shots (This also depends on the gun you are using)

Damage multipliers can be set for each limb, damage is calculated by how far the bullet travels in the player and the speed and mass of the bullet.

  • Improved bullet tracers.

  • Increased bullet segment resolution. (this helps with more accurate object detection)

  • There should be minimum run and gun accuracy.

DUALITY UPDATES!
Heyo! We finally got some more updates before we release our game.

8/9/21

  • Removed running and gunning (it can still work as of rn, but we are trying our best to remove most of it!!)

  • Added all gun sounds !

    The reload sound is connected to an animation event in the reload animation at the keyframe where the bolt is about to be pulled back, it is important that the sounds are trimmed correctly so that the sound starts playing right at the beginning or the timing will be off.

  • Bullets deviate upwards when you spray (how much the bullet deviates from the crosshair can be adjusted)

  • Bullet holes no longer appears on players

  • Fixed bullet tracers glitching out

  • Bullet tracers will not always show (the probability that they will show can be adjusted)

  • Recoil patterns done, there are three recoil pattern types and can all be adjusted for intensity and speed:

  • Vertical (most basic recoil, just moves vertically upwards)

  • Diverted (can either gradually move to the left or right as it moves upwards)

  • Sinusoidal (alternates in the left and right directions as it goes upwards like a sine wave)

Remember! This game releases in September, so we have plenty of time to fix it up. :))
(gun names will be changed and the uis and the gun system will be both put together into the map soon)

The thing is that this game is trying to be like valorant and valorant has big maps if they are trying to go for a valorant styled game then it will the game will also require a lot of sneaking and quietness in it

FINAL RELEASE UPDATE FOR OUR FPS PROJECT
Wow, I really promised myself I would update my devforum more last time. Haha, oh well…

After 4-5 months of hard work, we have reached a definitive point in the completion of Duality. Duality will be releasing on Monday, January 3, 2022, at 6:30 PM EST. Deathmatch will be the only available mode on release.

In light of the excessive time taken developing deathmatch, we will be developing two additional game modes, 2 v 2 and knife, which will release the following weeks after the release of FFA. We hope the additional game modes will act as accommodations until we thoroughly complete the 5 v 5 game mode. Additionally, we have implemented a global leaderboard system, which we hope will satisfy those with competitive playstyles.


The maps look really nice! However, I think there is room for improvement on the animations.
