I'm lagging/freezing every time I put a ScreenGui into StarterGui

Laptops usually can carry 2 sticks of ram. If you can’t install an 8 GB stick, then remove your 8 GB stick and add a 16 GB stick. The maximum cost should be no more then $50-70 USD for a 16 GB stick.

In that case, I would go looking for broken computers being sold and I would salvage the parts.

I dont wanna do that just for a video game I should be able to cope with it

My computer is running on 8GB and it works fine. I get no issues dragging a ScreenGui, so you are wrong.

I believe I found the issue.

Your CPU’s clockspeed is at 2.3GHz, which is the minimum for basic tasks. When you drag a ScreenGui into StarterGui, the display updates because of this change, and inserts it onto the screen. I’m not exactly a tech nerd, but I believe that when this happens, your computer sends a message to the CPU requesting that this action is done, but since your clockspeed is pretty low, it struggles to handle this request. 2.3GHz is really not recommended for Roblox studio.

Again, correct me if I’m wrong, I’m not a tech nerd.

I have a solution for you.
In the studio settings There are a setting named “Studio Quality”.
Set it to 1 Level. To see the result.

That won’t help. That just changes the quality of the 3D world, such as if it should have shadows or not. It doesn’t affect a GUI.

If you are using ROBLOX Studio for game development, upgrading to 16GB of RAM can significantly improve your productivity and overall performance. Here are some reasons why:

  1. Multitasking: When working on a project, you may need to have several applications or tabs open simultaneously, such as a web browser, a music player, or a text editor. With 16GB of RAM, you can switch between these programs quickly and efficiently without experiencing any slowdowns.
  2. Large Projects: If you are working on a large-scale project with many assets, scripts, and plugins, you may notice that your computer’s performance starts to suffer. This can lead to slow loading times, lag, and crashes. By upgrading to 16GB of RAM, you can increase the amount of data your computer can handle at once, which can help improve your workflow and reduce frustration.
  3. Future-Proofing: As technology advances and software becomes more demanding, having 16GB of RAM will ensure that your computer can handle any new updates or features that may be added to ROBLOX Studio in the future. Investing in more RAM now can save you the cost and hassle of having to upgrade your computer in the near future.

Overall, while 8GB of RAM may work for some ROBLOX Studio users, upgrading to 16GB can offer significant benefits in terms of productivity, performance, and future-proofing your computer.

The statement is generally true, but it is important to note that clock speed is not the only factor that affects CPU performance. Other factors such as the number of cores, cache size, and processor architecture can also impact performance. Additionally, the specific requirements for optimal performance in ROBLOX Studio may vary depending on the complexity of the project and the number of assets being used.

This is true, however most stuff I make is mostly on a small-scale and doesn’t require too many resources. For other people, I can see what you mean. It all depends on what you intend on making in Studio.

8GB used to work like a CHARM it could even load like up to 500 MB games ( really really large games )
and no freezing no lag but now I lag ALOT like ALOT in that game and if I try to move a gui to startergui roblox studio freezes and closes I’m thinking plugins problem because I didn’t have much plugins when it worked like a charm.

Try clearing out your tabs in your search browser of choice, freeing up storage as cutting down in your RAM use as much as possible.

Try to limit multitasking when developing so you can dedicate more professing power to studio.

I multitask while opening A MILLINO TABS IN CHROME and opening the EXPLORER and WHATSAPP and autoclicker idek why I keep it open but ye and put music and chat with people AND PLAY ROBLOX AT THE SAME FREAKIN TIME so it seems like plugins may have been the problem I deleted some now not as much as before so if this fixes ima put the solution to this problem as a PLUGIN PROBLEM ok yes I do have caps issues ( my hands like typing in caps ) and idk how to fix it my hands just like caps ok ok bye, btw thanks for the suggestion will try it out right now.

I got really important files on my pc and I can’t get rid of them for personal reasons and if I format it I will need a flash drive or smth to copy my files into which im lazy to do and would take a really long time and I want to switch back to windows 10 I was in windows 10 but I got the upgrade notification windows 11 is fine and good but windows 10 makes life much easier anyone know how do I switch back to windows 10 it might fix problem because windows 11 might be not that good with my laptop

Alrighty the problem was the plugins thanks to everyone who tried to help I really appreciate it tysm now it doesn’t lag

Solution | Plugins, Explanation: I had too much plugins so that was why and some might’ve been viruses.

Now I can multitask with a million tabs open in chrome while listening to music also playing and also chatting in roblox and playing roblox games btw a million tabs for me is like 50 tabs so yeah most of them are for purposes of Scripting errors, Kick errors, Internet errors, Roblox bugs

Special thanks to: emilaltg, FileFraud for being with me from the start

even though FileFraud was much more active and tried to help me as much as he could but so everyone thank yall for all the help and the try to help me.

If it’s been less than two weeks since you upgraded, you can downgrade again.
