Importing a mesh part crashes studio

Has happened to my some time ago, twice

This is an alternative but not a solution. I don’t want to use it every time.

Hi there! I’m sorry you’re having trouble with this. While the Mesh Importer is a more fully featured option, the Properties Importer is convenient and we want that to work just as well. I’m having some trouble reproducing the crash on my end. Would you be able to upload a video (in this thread or attached to the private message) of the steps you took? Thank you!

Hello! I am current unable to reproduce the bug, but this doesn’t mean that the bug is not occurring, it is but as of now I am unable to reproduce this. I will try again tomorrow and will send you a video. I am still positive that it crashes because of the log file I privately messaged you. The file stops immediately as it imports the mesh.

I was able to reproduce the issue, or rather one similar to his. Here is the video I got of it.

There is no error report I have found, it just closes the program cold turkey.

I have been having this issue for over a week now. It happens to me with both the properties importer and 3D importer. It does not happen every import, maybe every 2nd or 3rd import.

Anyway, I recorded the video!! I have uploaded it in the original private message.

As soon as the mesh is done uploading, roblox crashes. But the mesh does get uploaded to Roblox’s database so I can later access the mesh. For now, I recorded the video where I overwrote an existing mesh part.

Do you have the occlusion culling beta feature active? If so, try disabling it temporarily until the issue is fixed.

Same thing happened to me and this temporarily fixes it.

Not sure the OP is paying attention to my replies :sob: no point getting another engineer to look into this when it’s already fixed

You only sent one reply and the issue still exists that’s why I am ignoring your replies. I do get it that they said in a week or two but till then let it stay.

I believe I do. I guess then the engineers should get into fixing it.

Update to this:

Pasting a new mesh id also crashes studio. Not even uploading just Ctrl C Ctrl V.

Thanks all! Both the importing and the copy-pasting bug will be fixed when @ProgrammerDude’s fix goes in. As mentioned this will take a week or so. Until then, disabling the Occlusion Culling beta feature will prevent this from happening. Please continue to watch that thread for when this will be fixed.
