Incorrect DevEx Rate Percentage Update - 8.5% Claim Is Not Accurate 🥀☠️

I noticed a discrepancy in the recent DevEx update information. According to Roblox, the DevEx rate increased by 8.5%, implying that the previous rate of 1 Robux = 0.0035 USD should now be 0.0038 USD.

However, the math does not support this:

Previous rate: 0.0035 USD
Claimed increase: 8.5% → 0.085

0.0035 · 0.085 = 0.0002975

0.0035 + 0.0002975 = 0.0037975

This means the new rate after an 8.5% increase would be 0.0037975 USD per Robux, not 0.0038. So, for 100,000 Robux:

100,000 · 0.0037975 = 379.75 USD

If the rate were exactly 0.0038 USD, the actual percentage increase would be:

0.0038 - 0.0035 = 0.0003

0.0003 / 0.0035 = 0.085̅7̅1̅4̅2̅8̅

Converting to a percentage: 8.57̅1̅4̅2̅8̅5̅%

This shows the 8.5% figure is slightly inaccurate. The official DevEx documentation (Developer Exchange Help Page) should be updated to reflect the correct numbers so developers can calculate earnings accurately.

A truly horrible mistake, please fix that

Reporting also this, the dev ex number is incorrect
Based on what it said, 10k robux convert just to 38 dollars

Yes, according to the data Roblox announced at the RDC and on X (formerly Twitter), the actual amount should be 37.975 USD.

New rate applies only to newly earned robux, robux earned before 10 AM PT on September 5 will go at the old rate

It is 38$. They write it in the announcement. 8.5% was only for visual reason. And who normally call for decrease devex rate???

Thank you!! I was so upset that Roblox lied to us. Why can’t they just give us the accurate numbers? They’re always upsetting the community. jk I love you Roblox!

Hi @raskolibov .

Thanks for reaching out. I appreciate your attention to detail with these reports.

I don’t think there are any changes we can make on the help doc for this issue, since the help center doc doesn’t actually mention 8.5% percentage. It only mentions that there is a new rate and an old rate. As far as I can tell, all the example rates math on the support page check out.

Re: 8.5%, while I’m not part of our finance/policy/economy teams, there may well be some rounding involved with some of these conversions to present both an accurate and clean looking number for the announcement.

Thanks again, and have a great rest of your week
