Key locking in Game and Studio on Mac

We just got back from the weekend. Trying to replicate now.

If anyone is able to provide a consistent repro this would be appreciated. I am unable to replicate it here.

Also make sure all plugins are disabled, and no fflags are locally enabled.

Sorry for the late response, its been a few busy weeks and I couldn’t hop on studio for a while. Now that I’m back though, I’d like to update you that its still an issue. Even with all plugins disabled, and settings reset (have no idea what fflags are), nothing seems to be changing. 1/4 arrow holds (holding down any key for a while and then releasing), results in studio thinking the key is still pressed. The only way to get out of it is to press that button again, as if its been physically jammed, and would need a press to un jam it (my keyboard keys are in perfect condition, and even by changing the keyboard, nothing happens). This is also a client bug, and can be very annoying. This doesn’t happen in any other apps that I have used. I’d like to note that this is occuring on windows 10 as well, according to others above. I honestly have no hint on what could be causing this.

Update:

It’s been nearly half a year, but I finally found out the problem, and now I’m slapping my forehead at how long it took me to find it out.

The problem:

Quite simply, key repetition. Nearly everybody uses it, and Roblox and Studio both don’t rule out the feature. Unfortunately, if you’re finding the problem disturbing enough, you’ll have to disable key repetition. For macOS: System Preferences > Keyboard Settings and slide the key repeat slider to the “off” notch.

I really hope that roblox disables key repeat support since we use our keys mainly to navigate, and having to disable the feature from the computer completely is a big handicap.

sorry for the mass tag, don’t want you guys to experience the key repeat torture for a second longer.

Now that I think of this, depending on how key repeats are registered (as key down, or key hold) we can apply a quick fix by making our own “holds” by sensing key downs and ups.
