Learning UI design #2

The icon being in the background is very nice, however I feel like the colors on the shop and the store are too bright and sort of an eye sore

First of all, sorry for this being like 12 or 13 days later.

Secondly, they donā€™t look bad necessarily; it just gives a very basic, copy and paste simulator vibe. Again, they arenā€™t bad - it just feels like Iā€™ve seen the same UI so many times from simulators (Ninja Legends especiallyā€¦)

Other than that, it is good. I would just explore more with an actual drop shadow as opposed to using a darker background frame as one. That is a major part in the simulator vibe (every simulator has UI like that, and I canā€™t figure out why :sob:).

If the simulator vibe is what youā€™re going for, then you did greatā€¦ lol. But either way, I still think you did great. It is clean.

Some recommendations:

  • The Shop Button ā€“ nothing wrong with the buttons itself, but you should give the dollar sign more thickness to match better with the images in the rest

  • Drop Shadow ā€“ as already mentioned, I would give it an actual drop shadow. Here is a plugin that I really like that gives you nice drop shadows for you UI. I would really recommend it, but if you use something like Photoshop to create your UI, you can use the drop shadow option under Blending Options

  • Originality - I would recommend looking through a lot of games and take inspiration from your favorite UI styles, and try to twist them to create your own unique and personal UI style. I can even DM you some screenshots of my UI style if you ask!

Despite the unoriginal design of it, it is good. Keep up the good work!
