My game is a VC game, meaning it requires Voice Chat to play and enjoy the full experience, however with Ads I see that I get a lot of players who don’t have VC, causing them to leave quickly which kills stats compared to players who would’ve had VC.
My request is an option for Ads called “Must Have Voice Chat” which would only allow players with VC enabled to see the Ad. This would help all Social Experiences that require VC to have more accurate advertisement stats
@RamboBelac - great question — and yeah, that’s actually one of the big reasons we built the new Ads Manager. It’s designed to intelligently match your experience with players who are most likely to engage, even if your game hasn’t picked up traction in recommendations yet.
Running campaigns through the new system can also help generate strong engagement signals (like plays, session time, and retention), which in turn can help your game get surfaced more in other parts of Roblox — including recommendations.
Since the new Ads Manager uses fractional bidding and smarter optimization, most creators are seeing better results than with the Classic flow, especially when it comes to Cost Per Play.
If you end up trying it out, we’d love to hear how it goes!
@StormyLP - really appreciate you sharing all of this — especially the comparison between Classic and the new Ads Manager. Super interesting to hear that the plays feel higher quality and that users are actually spending Robux — that’s exactly the kind of value we’re hoping to unlock with the new system.
Totally fair callout on pacing. While most campaigns are already seeing smooth daily spend, there are still a few edge cases where it’s a bit inconsistent. The good news is we’re rolling out improvements this week to make pacing much more reliable and consistent across the board — even without needing to schedule for midnight.
Also appreciate the note about thumbnails — that’s helpful and something we’re thinking more about as we fine-tune creative performance.
If you end up testing another campaign later this week, we’d love to hear how it goes with the improvements live. And as always, if you’ve got more feedback, keep it coming — it’s a huge help.
This new ad system just does not work for me. I do not get any impressions recently on two of the games I’m trying to advertise. Can you look into this?
@JaidanAmazin - jumping in here — also curious to hear how it’s been going since trying out the new system! If you’ve had a chance to run a campaign, we’d love to hear what worked well (or what didn’t). Feedback like yours really helps us keep improving Ads Manager.
@s_supaa - thanks for flagging this — and totally understand how frustrating that must be. A couple things that might help:
Just to clarify, were you trying the new ads manager to run these campaigns?
In the new Ads Manager, campaigns now use fractional bidding, so there’s no need to set a manual bid — the system will optimize for the lowest possible Cost Per Play. However, if the demand is high and the campaign doesn’t have enough budget or a competitive start time, it may not serve impressions immediately.
You could try scheduling the campaign to start at midnight, which helps ensure smoother delivery throughout the day.
That said, we’d love to look into it more! If you’re up for sharing a bit more detail (campaign name or experience name), we can help dig in further. And if you try again this week, definitely let us know how it goes — we’re always working to improve.
@SquarianSquare - sounds like a solid plan — a polished game and strong thumbnails can go a long way in making your ad campaigns more effective. When you do give it a try, definitely let us know how it goes! Would love to hear what worked well (and what didn’t). Always happy to stay close and help make sure the system’s working great for you.
Are you guys ever going to bring back us being able to advertise to users under 13 and possibly user ads again? I still don’t understand why advertisements were banned to children under 13 or even removed in the first place. I heard it was because of the COPPA laws but since when did user ads track the data of users? Also even if they did can’t you make them where they don’t track data? The old ad system before the ad manager was introduced was perfect. Why can’t we bring that back instead…?
@s_supaa - thanks for calling that out — totally fair feedback. We’re actively working on bringing advanced targeting (like region, audience selection, and more) into the new Ads Manager soon!
In the meantime, the system does automatically find the players most likely to engage with your experience, but we know many creators want more control — and it’s coming. If you end up testing the new system again, we’d love to hear how it goes for you.
@JaidanAmazin - really appreciate you sharing this — it’s a great question and one we hear from other creators too. There are important privacy regulations that prevent us from showing personalized ads to users under 13, and we take those requirements seriously to protect our community.
That said, we’re continuing to explore safe, privacy-compliant ways to make advertising more effective and accessible to a wider audience, while still giving you the control and performance you’re looking for. We know how impactful the older system felt, and we’re working on bringing the best parts of that back into the new system where possible.
Would love to hear if you’ve tried the new Ads Manager yet — curious what your experience has been like so far.
Do you think developers (specifically small developers) should feel optimistic about the future of advertising on the Roblox platform being as optimistic about game discoverability as we were with the old ad system? After all the biggest group that was affected by the creation of the ad manager and the removal of user ads and the old advertisement system are small developers like me who are trying to market our games and attract players. Also why was ‘ad credits’ even made in the first place? The old user ad system didn’t have ad credits and the system was perfectly fine with the old algorithm .
Will we ever see vertical ads again? Would be cool to see that in the modern day ad system, with images again but use your new discovery. The community loved user ads and at least give us something that’s close to it?
I’ve ran an ad for about a week and the impressions seem to be increasing, although still not enough to maintain a playerbase. I’m going to run them for another 10 days to see what happens.
I’d like to propose a more effective and inclusive replacement to the old user ad system that respects COPPA restrictions but still helps developers—especially smaller ones—attract players. The new Ad Manager lacks the organic reach we used to have, especially now that under-13 players cannot view most game ads.
Here’s a quick summary of the idea:
" Introduce Discovery Slots for U13 players that promote kid-friendly, pre-approved games without tracking."
" Bring back a revamped version of User Ads for 13+ users, using standardized templates and improved moderation."
" Implement a hybrid promotional system where devs can budget for both sponsorships and discovery boosts, with analytics."
This way, Roblox remains compliant with COPPA while restoring a powerful and fair tool for game discovery. I believe this will help reinvigorate the platform’s developer community and create a better experience for players of all ages.
