This is misinformation.
You can use clickdetectors’ events in localscripts. Many people tend to use them in server scripts, but they’re not actually aware of this.
ClickDetectors work on client or server - localscripts themselves do not run in workspace, however.
You probably tried the same then switched to a serverscript and guessed this was the reason why, I’m guessing.
