Magnitude Vs Hotboxing or RayCasting

Hello Devs

I am a developer trying to develop a combat/RPG game. But today I got a thought like should I use magnitude, hitboxing -(Making a part setting it CFrame to players HumnaoidRootPart) or Ray Casting for making a combat system .For Now I have used Hotboxing as its easy but its kind of buggy. What are your thoughts about this. And what should I use as a early Dev ,not advanced.
