Hi, I’m Madd and for the past couple of weeks I been working and designing a sample UI for my game. I would like some critical feedback. As well as feedback propose new ideas or even screenshot some to fix what you think needs fixing. Be as harsh or nice as possible. I just ask you be polite about it.
The Game
The is called ‘Website Empire’ it’s basically a simulator game but in the form of only UI where you run and operate a store. This is most of the sample UI done.
One area on both UI’s I don’t like are the Home menus if you could give me feedback on how to improve those included pictures or screenshots that would really help.
As well as if you could tell me which UI you prefer as well that would be nice!
Thank You for taking this time to read and respond today it means a great deal to me.
I wish you all a Great day.
Below buy money in the shop tab is uneven and below the shop name in the home tab is a little uneven. The items tab is a tiny bit uneven but if theres any more you did a good job at hiding it.
I don’t like it. It’s very cluttered. Nothing seems to be aligned to anything.
Here’s an example of a good UI, and it’s something you probably use every day:
Everything is aligned.
Nothing has a background.
In your UI, everything has a background and nothing is aligned to anything.
The padding should be consistent.
(left)
(right)
This text has no padding. It’s uncomfortably large. If you’re using TextScaled, please don’t.
Also, the description has a background for some reason.
The entire window already has a background. You don’t need another transparent white background on top of it.
Use a scrolling frame instead of a “More” button.
This is Miner’s Haven. In this shop, it shows the item’s picture and how much it costs. If you hover over an item you can find out more information about that item. Sure, items have a border and the text has a background, but it’s not overdone. The text fits comfortably in its box. And above all, everything is neatly aligned in a grid. The space between the items is consistent as well.
I’m not saying you should copy this UI, but it is an example of what a decent (for this platform) UI looks like.
I like how you stuck to the green theme throughout all the UIs. I see how you went for a simple/minimal style, and honestly, there isn’t much to criticize about it. It’s great for a sample!
