Hi Everyone.
Is it possible to have multiple camera instances in-game? I have been working on a few creative challenges and it seems like this would be a great way to solve them, but I can’t find any way to use anything other than the main camera. What I’m hoping for is to have one or more additional camera instances that work within some kind of GUI system to achieve the following:
-
Multiple cameras to create a surveillance system like a situation room with multiple monitors on-screen watching various parts of an event or environment. So one example is like multiple camera feeds to a situation room. This could be simulated with a GUI which displays a live stream from 4-6 surveillance cameras to view threats coming from multiple directions simultaneously. Or it could be used to view your team on a mission trying to achieve an objective and each camera view is like the helmet cam of each operative,
-
An unrelated idea is to use a second camera coupled with a GUI on an object’s surface to simulate an accurate mirror. This could also be used as an effective rear-vision mirror.
-
Another idea is to make Gui backgrounds more dynamic with an in-game camera feed. What I was thinking was to have a second camera focused on a dynamic part of my workspace environment to provide a live feed that is displayed as a background within my GUI’s to make them more alive and interesting.
Is any of this possible using multiple camera instances? If not, what are the best alternatives for now?
