Heya so over the past year I have been working on a tower defense game featuring a variety of features such as clans, referral and RNG Auras(AFK lobby). It has a few towers that you can purchase and I was wondering if anyone can give me feedback as to how to improve the gameplay loop for my game. I really wanna get my game out already and need advice and insight if this game will make it.
To be quite honest it doesnt differ much from any other Tower Defense game, altrough the first impression was good, the menu did its job nicely, it is the same as any other tower defense, as a fun coding project its ok, but it wont do the numbers in my opinion. Also for some reason troops didnt have different models as its shown, but instead all the difference is shirt color. Balance is kinda strange as well
Noted, thanks for the feedback. I’m thinking of ideas of differentiation from other tower defense games. So far I have Auras & Clan system. The reason they have different models shown is because the thumbnail icons show the highest level of them. I guess I’ll revert it so that it shows you the level 1 models, just thought that the level 5 models look nicer to view rather than level 1.

The game is well coded, and the scripter did a good job making the tower system work so well. I think that the main issue that may be a big problem is simply the NPC design. They feel inspired by tower battles, which is not a bad thing, however tower battles is an old game, that isn’t performing as good at it’s counterparts (eg. tower defense simulator).
I think the reason why tower battles is not performing as well as other tower defense games is partially simply due to how small and uninteresting the NPCs are; the zombies are small, and their design is minimal, and this is true for the towers too. This is also true for Tower Rush. This makes the game feel unalive, and gives the game a bit of an off look to it.
In my opinion, a good way to address these problems is to make custom models for each zombie and each tower. Specifically, using the regular r6 character as a template, and then adding distinct 3D clothing and cool animations (shooting, sprinting, death effects, etc.) will help this game out tremendously, by making the NPCs feel like more than characters that are simply there for the sake of making the game complete.
There is little that I have to say about the UI, scripting and the maps, as I think that they are pretty good quality, and will not hinder the game’s early growth.

Working on the tower system was relatively straightforward for me though the annoying part was actually designing the towers as well as getting the thumbnails done for them. I’ll be switching over to a viewportframe system that displays the model for the towers to make life easier for me in the future.
I’ll try to see if I can think of ways to improve the designs for the NPCs. In terms of the lobby design, do you think it’s currently good as it is right now?
I think the lobby is fine as is, however personally for me, it is a bit too big. I’d make it a bit smaller, simply because I think a lobby that is small and maybe even a little claustrophobic is more helpful to the growth of a game than a lobby that is big and perhaps a bit too spacious. That’s just personal opinion, though, so if you like the lobby, you should keep it the way it is!
Yeah I always felt like something was off with the lobby, I’ve done what I can to allow newbies to easily navigate through it by adding the green arrows attached to their torsos and takes them to the lobby area
Nice game! I agree with what everyone else said but some tips are increase UI size for phone such as the zombie health. I like the comments when I don’t have enough money haha

I would like to ask more about the balancing, what exactly do you think needs to be balanced and why?
