So, a while back I used to be able to negate a block of one color onto a block of a different color, and the negated block would leave it’s color on the other.
For a visual example, this is after negating a white part on a blue part from a while back:
This is a bug in CSGv2 (which btw was made default a while ago).
It will be fixed some day.
Please mark this as a solution. Roblox Staff is already aware of the issue and a solved thread may indiciate there is no point in visiting the thread.
If it’s going to be ‘fixed’, will there be an option to toggle the coloring on or off? Tbh, in some instances I like how it’s a ‘neutral’ color when negating because it makes carving multicolored objects easier.
You can still use CSG version 1 by going to File>Settings>Physics>Disable CSGv2.
You’ll get a couple warning messages, but it still allows you to make multicoloured Unions with the old CSG system. It’ll be more finicky, but apparently that’s the price we have to pay.
As it stands now CSGv2 is a non-starter for me, due to this thread’s issue, this issue, and the lack of normal interpolation at slight angles. Its other issues I can work around, but those three are all things I rely on to make the shapes I want.
