New Body Movers

this is honestly amazing!! before, i had to implement my own hacky workaround for this using all sorts of finicky physics calculations… 100% love

New blog post says they are released, but I can only seem to get AlignOrientation to work. Things like LineForce and VectorForce aren’t in the menu.

Many of these are not enabled yet.

The blog article shipped way too early.

Any update on when we can expect these to go live?

We’re still waiting until all platforms are up to date with the change. Eta between Apr 17th and 21st.

Is there a certain amount of time I should wait before being able to use them? I can’t find VectorForce.

They should be all enabled. You only need to restart Studio. What’s the problem with VectorForce?

Thanks. It seems to be missing in the object browser indeed. You can still use the Constraint tab.

Can we move this to Public so everyone can see it (this topic is linked from the official blog post)?

Done.

Would it be possible to have a MaxSpeed property (in studs/s) that a VectorForce could go?

There are 2 BodyMovers that are still missing:

  • Velocity
  • AngularVelocity
That will do what you want. No ETA yet though.

What are the reasons to use these over the old body movers? You talk about other optimisations that have been made under the hood.

This is amazing, it’s always been hard to make these sorts of things from scratch and this will make it much easier.
