As long as you find that bug where the inner and outer cage (which are identical) have different triangle count, and smash it into tiny pieces, you can take all the time you need!

I’m pretty sure that’s what is preventing custom avatar layered clothing from working. I have horse barding I want to equip!

Possible issue regarding the beta importer. It’s come up a couple times during large imports.

Issue: Nothing having anything to do with the new mesh is registered as the “file changed” so you are unable to save to Roblox. I moved the model, changed properties, added surface appearance where missing, and the file still did not register as different than the last save.

Then I grab some other model, move it and move it back, and then the file can save.

Weird.

These are large models… 100-200k triangles.

so a simple suggestion id like tomake is, an option to turn off the model automatically being added to your inventory. as of right now we cant remove modelsfrom the inventory so if you are like me and want to make changes to models after the initial import, your inventory gets bunged up with a ton of duplicates or random small parts. itd really be beneficial to either add the option for itto not go in the inventory or to to delete stuff from your inventory.

I don’t even want to look at my inventory… I could not tell you what works and what doesnt.

Another issue with the importer…

Hundreds of animations auto-published. One for every part, possibly over several FAILED imports (I loaded the castle about 5 times before I had one with basic functionality). There is NO current ability to delete or archive animations so my inventory is trashed…

The tracks did exist in blender, but I was unaware of it. Probably hit the spacebar while editing the ivy. Most of these animations were empty in blender. 13 had a single frame.

I have a problem.

When I import this car, then when if it finishes it does not appear??
I checked my inventory and the whole game and it did not appear.
But in the preview it showed the whole model???

There was no errors at all. I don’t know what is causing this…

Roblox have a problem with a paper thin object and a single vertex, check if you don’t have a model that is a paper-thin or if a single vertex lost, usually this happen because you have a model group in Blender with one of the things I said, paper thing or single vertex.

Ok. Another problem with this importer.

When I export it to blender then import it to roblox this will happen.

Then when I import it will turn out like this

I also found that if you scale it to 0.01 it will work. But it did not for me.
I also tried making it 0.00001 it also did not work.
Can someone help me with this problem? Thanks.

Make sure you accept all transformations. Only export “selected items.” This looks like an export issue. Re import the file back into an empty blender file, see what happens.

Why does the importer create a ‘Model’ in my inventory when I upload a mesh which can never be deleted or archived? Is there a way to disable this?

Has there been any update to the Smart Mesh Importer Beta? I have been holding on to some skinned mesh imports, trying to avoid the avatar importer.

Skinned meshes should be working at least as well as with the old avatar importer. If you have issues importing any please let us know!

Is this mesh importer still working? I left Roblox for a couple of weeks to focus on life while a project was being organized. I opened it today and I can’t see the icon. Please give me hope that I don’t have to use the old method again.

Hi, I have a problem with mesh import, I am trying to import an animal model with an animation from a bledner, previously the animation appeared in the my animations tab, now it does not appear.

I found, just created a game in a group and they appeared in a separate tab, problem solved :slight_smile:
