If you mean another name for adding commas; yes I do I another name for it; I’d name it as “digit grouping” but I’ve only seen this term in libraries designed for internationalisation.
(number abbreviations/numbers to K, M, B, T etc are also named as “compact notation”, but this term is also only found in libraries designed for internationalisation like ICU 
)
Things like this actually gets very hard to implement when you start to take more features and i18n into account (like ICU for example, not Lua though but it has a lot of features)
