[CLOSED] Hiring Developers (Builders and Visual Effects)

Who are we?
I am one of the co-owners and one of two developers of Project Star. A newly released front-page Roblox game. Project Star is a story-based semi-open-world RPG game with dungeon crawler elements based on the popular anime and manga series “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure”.

What are we hiring?
We are hoping to find a builder and visual effects programmer to help us speed up our development and produce equal quality or possibly higher quality updates. Depending on the quality, we may accept non-programmer VFX artists onto the team that will be expected to work alongside me (the current programmer and guy who handles VFX).

Job details.
Builder - Expected to make a map at around the same quality or higher as the current map in-game. Expected to have skills in 3D Modeling as well as knowledge on how to properly optimize 3D models used in the map (an issue we have with our current map).

Visual Effects / VFX - Expected to have strong knowledge of the Roblox particles, beams, and trails as well as a basic foundation on programming visual effects. You will not be expected to handle anything other than visual effects. Detection, damage, and other functionality will not be a part of this job. All you are working on is client-side visual effects scripting.

Payment.
IMPORTANT: In general, we are flexible with the price ranges you give us. If your application is good enough but you charge higher than the listed prices, there is a chance we will negotiate or flat-out accept your prices.

Builder - 200,000 - 450,000 Robux per Map (700 - 1575 USD)
Visual Effects - 250,000 - 350,000 Robux per Moveset (875 - 1225 USD)

These ranges depend on complexity, meeting eta, and quality of work.

P.S: Only reason the map is down to 200,000 is we may commission some dungeon maps, which are not very large at all.

Overall Expectations.
Builder:

  • Creativity and ability to incorporate ideas we give for reference
  • Knowledge of 3D modeling and optimization
  • General familiarity with JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure or willingness to learn more and/or follow general references we provide
  • Meeting the quality of our current map if not better (Examples of quality maps in games are: Anime Legends and Vesteria)

Visual Effects Programmer:

  • Creativity and ability to recreate or improve upon base ideas or references
  • General familiarity with JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure or willingness to learn more and/or follow general references we provide
  • Ability to write readable code that is somewhat documented (for my sake)
  • Ability to optimize your visual effects for lower-end devices. If a phone can’t handle it then it should be optimized further.
  • Meeting the quality of our current visual effects if not better (Examples of good visual effects in games are: Grand Piece Online, Zenkai Origins, A Universal Time, Your Bizarre Adventure, Anime Legends)
