We are looking for programmers to help us script our new project and possibly future projects. For our first project we are hoping on the hello neighbor style trend and producing our own unique version of this genre.
About Us
Hi there! We are GoatByte, a small upcoming game development team. We’re looking for developers who are willing to join our team and work with us on our current and future projects
We are looking for somewhat professional developers to join our team as our developers. We expect high quality builds that adhere to our game’s style. Good communication skills are appreciated; we check team progress every once in a while and want to maintain a healthy relationship with one another.
We are just starting our first project and I am hoping to finish or at least have a preview of the game done by no longer than the end of June.
Payment
We currently have no group funds so payment will come after revenue is generated. We will probably pay you a specific percentage of the game’s revenue. If you are planing on being a permanent developer you will probably be paid a percentage of all revenue. If you are just a developer for this specific project you will be paid a post-determined amount of robux for your work and then will be sent on your way!
Contact Us
You can contact me here on the Developer Forum or via Discord at: MasterGoat595#1334 or dm our twitter @GoatByteStudios
We would prefer you be at least 13 but if you are younger we could work something out.
Thanks for reading! I am looking forward to working with you!
(FYI my time zone is eastern standard time so if I don’t see your friend request or dm until the next day I apologize)
You mentioned you currently have no group funds, so what if the game barely makes any revenue? Do you have backup Robux so you can pay them in that case?
Just remember, you can pay somebody 30% of all income, but if the income is only, let’s say 1000 Robux, then they’re only getting 300 Robux for all the work they’ve done on the game, while they should be getting tens of thousands of Robux.
My suggestion: Either find somebody who will be willing to financially support your project (don’t do it here on the devforum as it’s not allowed), or invest in it and buy Robux yourself. 20,000 Robux is a good amount for backup payment.
I appreciate the help! I will work on that, I know the pay wont be the greatest! I just don’t have the money or investors to pay tens of thousands of robux. I do have a backup payment that I have been working on, unfortunately it isn’t 20,000 Robux
Paying percentages is a perfectly fine way of paying developers. Although backups are appreciated, they aren’t entirely necessary. Developers go into a project like this knowing the risk, and when they take the risk of joining a project that may not be successful, they are accepting that their payment is dependent on the quality of the game and the level of work they put into the game. Remember, a game is only as strong as the effort and passion put into it. So you can think of it like “more often than not a game won’t be successful because of the ability of the team members”. There are outliers of course like no monetization, marketing, ads, but you understand the drift.
Hello, My name is Justin. I’m 12 years old and live in Canada. I’ve been very interested in becoming a developer, I found most passion in my Art skills with GFX. I’m not a bad builder either. And if someone needs me to script something I’ll just need to know what it is and the script.
