Typically it gets quite tedious having to resize multiple parts manually, one by one. I know there are building plugins that have this feature, which is great. But I find it hard to get used to using a plugin based building tool, especially if I enjoy using the standard studio building tools a lot more.
Naturally, this is a lot more convenient for new Roblox developers that are new to Roblox Studio. Presenting them with useful features that allow them (and us) to build more efficiently and quickly would be great, considering how easy it would be to build complex and linear structures. Not to mention if the “Parts to resize” count is above 100…
at 0:12 he shows two parts being scaled like you would when using the model resize plugin (probably should have clarified but I thought it was obvious)
like I said its not practical when it comes to complicated models, but it is a step towards model resizing as a core studio function
Basically what Mael was showing, resizing multiple parts either relative to each other, or relative to itself. I did mention using plugins, but this is not very beneficial for new studio users, and as for me, using plugins as building tools. New users typically wouldn’t start using plugins the moment they open studio after all. And as far as the studio tool users go, this would be extremely helpful.
I apologise if I wasn’t clear enough about my statement. The resize I’m talking about is their individual origins, I’m aware of the plugins that allow me to resize multiple parts, and of course the extremely helpful (and I use a lot), model resizer. Having multiple part resizer built into the studio build tool system would just be a big bonus
Yeah totally agree, that would be an awesome addition. I had to use a plugin for this exact issue and only this issue. What makes it frustrating is that the plugins break and sometimes the cursor gets all messed up making it hard to switch from plugin right back to studio. Making it a core tool would be so nice.
I’ve done this before. Except in my case the camera would act really weird, easy way to explain it is if you focus a part/model, and move your camera, your camera would pivot around that object, except navigating your camera doesn’t reset that, and you’re basically stuck with a funky camera. I’d rather resize parts manually than dealing with annoying cameras.
