Please help! Animating a tool

  1. What do you want to achieve?
    I want to animate a tool with a r15 rig, and I’ve been following a youtube tutorial, it tells me to weld the tool to the hand then to use the animation plugin built in
  2. What is the issue? Include screenshots / videos if possible!
    The animation does not animate as expected, when I rotate the upper arm, the hand does not move, and when I move the hand, the tool rotates like crazy away from the hand.
  3. What solutions have you tried so far?
    I’ve tried re-creating the weld, making a new rig, but the animating process doesn’t work.

I’d really like for someone to tell me how to properly animate with a tool. my tool only has one part, but I’m also going to be animating a multi-part tool, so if possible I’d like to know how to do both without any glitching.
