I believe there is a bug related to the developer console ATM, so your issue may be related to that.

Can you please open, in studio, the output window? It should still display anything regardless of any known bugs.

The print does appear in the Output window, so you might be right.

There is a selection of which contexts to show; have you selected all contexts?

is this not because your developer console was on the client tab?

I had them check the server side one too, to confirm what the issue was.
