Procedural Terrain Generation with actual terrain

Would it be possible to generate terrain in a world/game with actual terrain? Create sphere like planets, within those planets are generated spherical terrain.

I’m planning on making a game that allows this. The movement systems will have gravity that will you would be able to walk spherically around the planets.

It can be done, but it is very hard to optimize. What do you mean by ‘actual terrain’ (Roblox terrain, skinned meshes, parts)?
