Haha, yeah, the development team is also quite fond of the build style of the game and we’re hoping that our community is to. Soon enough you’ll be able to blow each other up-
Wow it’s been almost a month since I posted anything on this, lol.
Well anyways progress update:
Game is coming along great, we’re slowly approaching our 6th month of development, which is amazing! Here’s some recent screenshots of our progress:
Warping additions:
Some UI additions:
There’s to much we’ve done in the past month to put all on here, lol. Feel free to join our discord server if you’re interested in this project.
Another quick little update:
Made this interior for the main station the player will spawn in which will also act as like the central hub space for the player to come back to after everything they do.
It’s not done completely yet, but it’s getting somewhere…
I’m going to be going back and remodeling/revising a lot of older models and adding onto them to give them a more “professional” look today.
It’s been 24 days since you’ve given a status update, smh anyways how’s it coming along now?
The game looks really good. But why another space sandbox? So many of these already exist on the platform. It feels a bit unoriginal.
This game is extremely open world, and is extremely performant on all devices making it a much more viable option than other sandboxes because low performing devices can run it at high FPS’s. In terms of gameplay, in it’s current unreleased state, it probably is no different than regular space games on Roblox. However, once we start developing some of the other gameplay aspects such as racing, planet interiors, and other warfare mechanics, these features will set this game apart from other games like Starbase and Starscape.
The game is coming along quite well!
I modeled this ship this morning.
In terms of what’s happened over the past month or so, we’ve begun developing drones and other ships.
Unfortunately, we can’t get turrets to work just yet, which is okay, since we have other features to work on in the mean time while we figure out how to make turrets work.
On top of these things, we’ve implemented a ship editor into the game (although there’s nothing to put on ships yet) this feature works as intended and can be used as a 3D viewport to look at ships before spawning them, yet this addition is pretty cool.
I would love to see more ot this!!
If there are that many systems, than do all of them have planets, especially interactive ones?
Feel free to join our discord server (link in somewhere in this post to our group)
We post leaks and development updates there quicker than I would here.
Good question! Every system has anywhere from I believe 3-11 planets, and each and every one will be interactable at some point (when we generate the planet interiors.)
Hey, question about habitable planet surfaces. Are there any plans for human settlements of any kind on there?
Yes of course. For the core systems at least one planet in each of those systems will have a large city in it (as well as some outposts spread throughout the world)
As for the other systems, we will probably randomly generate structures onto them.
This way the game will feel more lively and stuff.
Youre telling me, that there will be at least 1500 interactable planets…?
THAT IS SO COOL
I know right! However generating them might be an issue… Lol. We plan on using Roblox terrain for them, and each planet most likely will be infinite.
Anyways, I’ve gone ahead and meshed this ship I made yesterday and implemented it into our Public Testing Universe. There’s a few bugs with the engines and the engine effects, but I plan on addressing those later today probably.
Quick question, how do u even do that? The infinite terrain I mean. How does it generate and all that.
StarScape is easily my 2nd favourite Roblox game of all time, and this looks quite similar so I’m hooked. Hope development goes well for you .
Not quite, sure I don’t script the game. Feel free to join our server and ask our programmer how she plans on doing it, lol.
