Wow nice idea i Need this Plugin
When I try to convert a model with a script inside to a folder, everything in the model gets deleted and it stays a model instead of turning into a folder
@Elttob hey! Just installed this and kept getting this error:
Was wondering if you could help! I’m on Windows, not sure what else is needed.
Make sure when you install the plugin you grant that access ^^
How do I do this? I’m genuinely curious if you could just tell me where to go in studio!
Thanks, I got it to work - now I can enjoy using Reclass!
Suggestion, adding the ability to switch between MaterialVarients and SurfaceAppearance
Hey! Great plugin! I’ve found a bug though, when switching classes, the existing attributes does not carry over to the new instance, hope this gets fixed soon!
This plugin is probably the most useful plugin for everyone. However, I kind of want an option to convert stuff to Deprecated stuff, due to Roblox sometimes accidentally deprecating stuff. I noticed that I couldn’t convert ManualWelds to Welds when Roblox accidentally deprecated Welds. If this option can be added, that would be great!
I believe I have encountered a bug: it seems when you convert an instance with children, those children will be lost if you undo the conversion using Roblox Studio’s undo feature.
I am able to replicate this behavior every time with the following steps:
- Select an instance with at least one child instance
- Convert the instance to any new class using Reclass
- Use studio’s undo button. The parent instance will no longer have children.
- (Optional) Use studio’s redo button to retrieve the child instance(s).
This issue has persisted for far too long, so I opted to fixing it.
In addition to that I added two more features:
- Attributes now persist when converting same way tags did
- You can double click a list item to convert
instead of clicking it then moving your mouse to the ‘Convert’ button, makes things slightly faster
I will not be uploading this to the marketplace as I do not own the plugin, so I’ll just leave it here as a file for anyone bothered enough by the issue to check the devforums.
Just go to Plugins > Plugins Folder and plop the file there (you’ll also have to disable the other Reclass plugin so you dont end up having two)
Reclass.rbxmx (160.6 KB)
@Elttob pls make fix mainstream
Thank you for the fix, I’ve been having this issue for a long while & thought it was just me.
I completely understand that Elttob is just trying to get what his plugins’ are worth, but I highly doubt this will be the right step forward.
That is not a little bit of money. 4000 Robux is a lot, it might not be for many developers that have cash in their accounts possibly due to their high-earning simulator game, but for many younger developers, it isn’t.
I love Reclass, especially how it makes my life easier so much. I don’t have to constantly create a new Instance and move all the children and properties to it from the previous Instance just because I changed my mind, or made a mistake.
But it’s a pretty simple plugin. Not saying I could do it in under 5 minutes or something, I’m not that guy, but it’s simple. You select your Instance, you select your class and hit the button, and that’s it. It probably got the smooth effects from Fusion, but other than that, that’s it.
I can’t really say this for every single one of his plugins, as some of them are highly complex, detailed, and very well made, but a plugin like this being 4000 Robux (15 Dollars) is not worth it IMO.
I completely agree. I’ve been back and forth about buying this plugin for a while now, but I’m a keyboard shortcut guy, and because I can often achieve the same result faster with keyboard shortcuts (albeit more keystrokes, but I’m fast ) I’ve been hesitant. With the price increase, I fail to see the value.
But also, the Robux price increase is completely unnecessary. The justification for the increase is “in preparation for the Creator Store” and appears to be their calculation of a Robux to USD conversion. But when the Creator Store launches, Roblox stated that all plugins that charge Robux will go Off-Sale and the dev will have to put in a new USD price. This means there’s little reason for raising the price in advance other than to prohibit devs from buying it at the lower price.
I’m all for capitalizing on the change, but when you combine an exorbitant price increase with the community’s general opposition to the switch to USD, this decision may backfire. It’s more likely that someone will make a better version with more features, much like they did when they created it in the first place.
Now with that said, I hesitantly bought InCommand and LOVE IT. It’s been a HUGE time saver for me. It has a horrible bug that occasionally wipes out your saved scripts (no official fix from the dev to date), but I worked around it by creating a Windows batch file that copies the settings.json file (where the scripts are saved) daily, giving me multiple backups and versioning.
For clarity here, I’ve already locked in the USD pricing for the new Creator Store. When the change occurs, my plugins will remain on-sale. What I am trying to prevent - which I talk about in the Studio Elttob video - is causing FOMO by announcing a price raise and pressuring people to “buy now while it’s still cheap”.
I’ve never done sales on my stuff because I don’t agree with the consumerist mindset it inspires, so I didn’t want to inadvertently create one and thus manipulate people into purchasing my stuff, not because it is something they want, but because it is something they feared they would miss out on.
This is absolutely and categorically nothing shady. If anything, I am trying to be the opposite of that, because if there is one thing I hate, it is exploitative and unclean business.
This pricing is very much in line with industry standards elsewhere off-Roblox, but beyond that, this isn’t just for my own monetary gain (because I was doing OK before all of this) - what I really want to do is ensure that my own pricing isn’t hurting fellow creators who depend on a culture of people valuing labour properly in order to make any money at all. I’ve observed that my free products were potentially coercing others to undersell themselves, so I moved to correct that.
By the way, I am working on updated versions to replace these legacy plugins - this is merely interim measures.
When will the creator store USD release?
There’s no official date that I know of, but I personally expect it to launch within the next month.
Bro. It’s paid now. Atleast I got this for free.
cannot believe this
i have spent several months working on a gui.
today is the day i need to reclass a whole bunch of labels etc.
