No, 240 isn’t a randomly chosen number. It comes from that being the max rate that physics simulation steps at.

Running higher than that will potentially decrease simulation stability while providing almost no benefit so capping it helps for people who might otherwise think higher always = better.

No, plus why would need to go beyond 240FPS, it doesn’t make any difference.

i’m just trying to get my moneys worth out of my monitor. difference wise? personally, i can see a difference between the two, it’s not really that mind blowing but it’s there.

gotcha, i was aware of the 240 fps physics cap as some other folks talked about this in another thread. i just wasn’t aware of the clockwork that goes on behind the engine, so refactoring stuff to run at higher rates will definitely not be happening any time soon lmao. but, i do “feel” a difference between 240 and 360 especially in fast FPS games such as arsenal and phantom forces. albeit not a visible difference - but i think i’ll stick to my caveman logic of “higher = better” :^)
