TL;DR:
Clothing creators are facing constant theft from mass-upload groups using bots. Even after DMCA takedowns, the same groups re-upload daily. To make things worse, false counter-DMCAs with fake info (addresses that don’t exist, copied signatures, ignored watermarks) are being accepted, which restores stolen clothing. Roblox needs stronger action against repeat infringers, better detection of bot mass-uploads, and stricter checks on counter-DMCAs to truly protect creators.
I want to raise an issue that many clothing creators, including myself, are struggling with: theft of original clothing designs by mass-upload groups.
These groups use bots to upload dozens of stolen designs daily. Even when I file DMCA takedowns, the same groups return the next day with new stolen uploads. This cycle creates several problems:
Time-consuming: Filing 20+ DMCA takedowns weekly wastes countless hours.
Unfair burden: Creators are forced to constantly defend their work, while infringers continue freely.
Repeat offenders: The same groups and owners are rarely penalized — only individual assets are removed.
One of the group im going to mention that is actively doing this is 'Senpai - Roblox .
It came to my knowledge that most of these mass stealing groups use bots is when i dmca a group and the group owner contacted me saying that he uses bots to upload clothing hence he didnt upload my clothing on purpose ? ( very pathetic way of defending himself cause his alt account got a warning)
When i send dmca weekly , this group steals like 10-30+ clothing weekly , yet not punished or locked. I even tried to bring this matter to roblox support before and they only said they will punish account owners not groups , which is quite useless since the loop is still there of the repeated violations.
NOTE : THIS GROUP IS JUST AN EXAMPLE , THERES HUNDREDS OF GROUPS DOING THIS EVERYDAY WHICH UPLOAD 10+ ASSETS WEEKLY REPEATEDLY DESPITE ME REPORTING THEM WEEKLY ! GROUPS STILL UNPUNISHED
From a legal perspective, this situation raises concerns about Roblox’s compliance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). Under the DMCA, online service providers are required to adopt and reasonably implement a policy for terminating repeat infringers. However, in practice on Roblox, the accounts that get terminated for repeatedly uploading stolen assets are often just alt accounts, while the original group owners remain unaffected and continue operating freely. This undermines the purpose of the repeat infringer policy. Additionally, Roblox is accepting false counter-DMCA notices — with fake addresses, copied signatures, and visible watermarks being ignored — which results in stolen clothing being restored. Accepting such invalid notices and failing to penalize the actual operators (rather than their disposable alts) could be interpreted as Roblox not reasonably enforcing its repeat infringer policy. To properly comply with the law and protect creators, Roblox should consider stronger measures such as IP bans or broader account-level enforcement against groups and their owners, rather than allowing them to endlessly cycle through alternate accounts.
Counter-DMCA Abuse
A major concern is that these groups also abuse the counter-DMCA system:
Counter notices are often accepted even when my clothing has visible watermarks.
Many use fake addresses that don’t appear on Google Maps or are not residential at all.
Signatures on counter notices can be found online by reverse image search, proving they aren’t real.
Yet, despite this false information, their counters are approved and stolen clothing gets restored.
one more example:
The image above is related to this group owner who sent me false counter dmca 53dude - Roblox , and despite watermarks , upload date of original asset being months old, the counter dmca was accepted valid.

This raises the question:
What qualifications or checks are Roblox staff using when validating counter-DMCAs?
Because right now, it feels like false information is being accepted without verification, which undermines the entire DMCA process and harms original creators.
What needs to change
Stronger action against repeat infringer groups/accounts, not just individual assets.
Detection of mass bot uploads that mirror removed designs.
Stricter validation of counter-DMCAs, including verifying addresses and checking for fake signatures.
A streamlined process for creators to deal with recurring theft, so we can spend time creating instead of fighting endless re-uploads.
This issue doesn’t just affect me — I know many other clothing designers who have experienced the same struggle. Our work is constantly devalued by copy-bot groups, and the current system unintentionally favors the infringers.
Roblox has done a lot to support UGC creators, and I believe stronger protections for clothing designers would continue that vision. Protecting original creators ultimately benefits everyone — designers, players, and Roblox itself.
Thank you for your time, and I encourage other creators who’ve experienced this problem to share their experiences here as well.
