Roblox Studio does abnormal things that not even Roblox Support yet found a solution

I have an issue which isn’t quite in the right category respectively, because it’s an odd thing, a little too odd.
When I use my Roblox Studio, there’s a couple of things the application does when used for a period of time:

  1. Stuffed RAM usage: I abnormally have my RAM usage consumed most of it by Roblox Studio with a whopping 10-12 GB, while normally it should stay at maximum 5 GB on rare occasions.
  2. My Roblox Studio does an abnormal crashing: It doesn’t say any errors like “An error occured. We’re sorry!”, but instead it makes my screen black for a couple of seconds, then my screen is turned back to normal, although my desktop is not responsive for a bit, along with Roblox Studio with the whole window whitened (Can’t see anything). Then it crashes itself with no errors, along with crashing other apps such as Discord, Google, Blender, etc.

I’m not sure for number 1, but for number two you could try switching the graphics api in studio settings. The screen being black means your gpu might have been crashing.

I just came across another post like this, I think it’s worthy of being escalated to #bug-reports:studio-bugs

This is a grave concern, this thread should be bumped so that Roblox Staff takes note of it.

I’ve understood that this is something with a bad allocation error, when I’ve seen an inbuilt output error on Roblox Studio, while I was looking at the statistics of Task Manager. I’ll try finding out more about this

hello i just got notified lol, this ram usage bump is really annoying tbh

Happened to me once when i had a huge memory leak causing my ram to reach 100% usage. Causing my entire pc to crash. I suppose this happens when your pc has no space left to put stuff in the ram so it kinda prevent itself from destroying itself and stuff or either just make apps crash since they can’t temporarily store data anymore idk i 'm not a technician.

In very severe cases, your PC uses your storage as temporary ram if usage is near 100%. Hope that clears any confusion.

i knew that one already, so i suppose since it is slower it just causes to kinda “freeze” / make your app “not responsive” for a moment or even crash?

I saw this not long ago about memory issues and built in plugins but can’t tell if it was ever resolved. May not be the issue but couldn’t hurt to take a look through.

already tried to deleted all my installed plugin, didn’t do anything so idk

The issue seems to be the built-in plug-ins that come with studio. No idea if it was resolved though.

So I’ve solved the problem, and it was pretty simple. When I’ve entered a new baseplate, with a fresh AppData folder, I’ve noticed my RAM was still bumping up. Then I instantly thought of checking pre-installed account data, such as plugins. I tried disabling all my plugins to see if there’s any difference, and there was a difference. I then checked each plugin apart and I’ve realised what plugin made this RAM bump up. Now with it disabled, my Roblox Studio bumped up from 20 FPS to a whopping 60 FPS.
