This is also not a viable option as people will typically put a dislike on games that they are auto-kicked from, thus destroying your gameā€™s like ratio. I really wish they would add a playtime counter to games before people can add a like or dislikeā€¦ (even like not allowing people to dislike a game until theyā€™ve played for 30 seconds would be nice)

Although I kinda preferred when there was basically no CoreGui visible unless the menu button was pressed (the Roblox button was missing until then), I like how the bottom bar makes it easier to leave an experience and hide ScreenGuis. (Koala Cafe is slightly better in VR now due to that.)

I also like how now itā€™s easier to interact with the ScreenGui; Having to press the menu button while also pointing forward was awkward and it wouldā€™ve been bad to have to explain this to players. Now, itā€™s as easy as pointing at a button and using the trigger.

So, yeah, I like what this VR update has done, but Iā€™m still thinking itā€™d be nice if the bottom bar could fade out or become hidden until the user points down to it or something, so thereā€™d be absolutely no UI for maximum immersion. :coefficients:

Are you having this issue in all games or specific games (more info would be useful, thanks!).

All games I play with VR. I boot up my Quest 2, join a game, next thing I know, Iā€™m getting 38-50 FPS. My 3090 is clocked at 1,695 MHz, the base clock.

We tried to place it low enough, so it isnā€™t in your view when looking forward, but always there for you when you need it if you look down. If we drop it down too far, you have to bend your neck too far, so there is a balance there. Give it a chance and let us know what you think.

Whether itā€™s through Oculus Link or Air Link, I still experience low FPS, but I mainly connect to my computer via the Oculus Link cable.

Having it always visible, wherever you put it, is a problem when youā€™re interacting with something in the direction of the menu bar. The point of VR is to use your full range of motion to explore the world, and right now the experience of looking down at things is obstructed by the menu bar.

Plenty of VR interaction involves looking slightly down, e.g. to grab something in front of you.

Itā€™s standard in pretty much every other VR game to press the menu button on the controller to show/hide the menu (the menu completely disappears when you hide it). Why not do that?

Ok so I just tried it out and hereā€™s my feedback so far.

  • The second button, whatever it is, literally does nothing? Is it just not implemented yet? Is my game bugged?
  • Accessing the gameā€™s UIs still doesnā€™t always work. Pointing and trying to click on stuff does nothing half the time, hopefully there will be a fix soon or something.
  • The whole panel feels like its too close to my face, wish there was a way to move it further/closer to me
  • Chat button doesnā€™t do anything either/is broken as all hell- the chat window popped up only the first time I tried clicking it, and then thereā€™s still no way to type in VR (i.e. virtual keyboard)
  • Bottom bar UI button tweens get stuck when shifting cursor between them quickly,
  • Leave Game button is straight up incompatible with the new desktop app, and when you try leaving the game with it, it doesnā€™t know what to do afterwards since the client is technically still open on your desktop but it has no info to send to your headset and youā€™re forced to either quit the app manually or take your headset off altogether because it just freezes.
  • no way to COMPLETELY hide the ā€˜taskbarā€™? Unless I just havenā€™t figured out which button hides/brings it up, thereā€™s seemingly no way to properly hide it. Its always there and is a bit of an obstacle when trying to reach for stuff, shoot, etc.
  • Still no way to mute/unmute your mic for spatial voice. Either add a button or let us make our own UI buttons to mute/unmute it with.

Honestly? Was really hopeful for this update being good, but if anything, I just see myself using VR with roblox less this way.

This is a terrible idea. You can turn off VR from your Options menu, thus allowing you to connect a headset and play flatscreen games without wearing your headset. (1)

Except now you launch VR games in flatscreen modeā€¦ Meaning youā€™ll get kicked from a VR game because VR wasnā€™t enabled. Oops.

(1) Although if youā€™re using SteamVR, this doesnā€™t work as advertised, because SteamVR launches whether or not Roblox connects to your headset. Devs fix plz!?

I love to see VR Updates! I was getting worried it was going to be dropped! Iā€™ve found some cool VR games on roblox so far and Iā€™m excited to check out the new UI! Please keep them coming! :white_heart:

That side bar isnā€™t part of the VR UI, itā€™s the gameā€™s UI lol

GREAT update! I have a Quest 2 and as a new user to VR I had no clue how to mute people in VR since I couldnā€™t find the roblox menu! Having the UI more accessible to players is a huge quality of life improvement for VR, especially for all the new people coming into Roblox VR.
