*.roblox.com domains not loading (developer.roblox.com for some reason works though)

You can’t ping ROBLOX AFAIK. I’m able to connect to the site, yet when I attempt to ping it through the command prompt:

You can, you just need to use the www. prefix.

My DNS was already set to google’s DNS.

I did ipconfig /flushdns and still nothing works.

I did ping www.roblox.com and I get an IP address (209.15.15.243) but it doesn’t connect either.

Have you tried multiple browsers?

Same problem on IE11.

Also, I can’t play games by doing “RobloxPlayerBeta.exe --id PLACEID” in command line. This usually works.

What is the exact error message? Also since DNS resolution succeeds, it sounds like you have been IP banned.

I don’t get an error message. Nothing happens. Task manager shows that RobloxPlayerBeta.exe doesn’t start at all. But if I enter incorrect arguments then I get an error message appropriate to what I entered incorrectly.

Also, roblox isn’t the only website. www.speedtest.net yields the same problem (the page just loads and loads and nothing ever shows up).

I can log in on my virtual machine (which is strange) and I can log in on my phone and on my dad’s PC.

api.roblox.com isn’t included when you’re IP banned, meaning you would still be able to access that page, so I don’t think that’s the reason at least. Though, that being said, I have no idea what the cause of this is then.

I checked my moderation history for my account on my virtual machine and the latest moderation done against my account was last year in December.

There are also systems put in place which automatically IP ban people, meaning your account wouldn’t be touched. For example, ddos prevention. However, it still doesn’t sound like you were actually IP banned.

It sounds far fetched, but try using the Windows Troubleshooter for accessing a specific website.

Almost 24 hours later and this is still happening.

This occurs on 2 sites currently: *.roblox.com and speedtest.net.

Also, the CSS styling doesn’t “render” on the mozilla website.

ALSO, when I go to wiki.roblox.com, the link automatically changes into the landing page php thing:

How would I do that?

Do you have a proxy server running? It could be blocking certain domains. Or you might have something going on in your .hosts file.

I had a similar problem once and restarting my router and modem fixed it.

Even though the problem only existed on one computer.

No proxy servers. My hosts file was empty. It’s fixed now though.

I had to reset my modem and re configure everything again. And because we live in a relatively large house, we have 1 wifi extender and another router in the house, so it all screwed up with each other networking equipment and broke some stuff or something. Took me 2 hours to reset and reconfigure it all but luckily everything works now (even wifi and it’s all on the same netword :DDD ). My dad’s a programmer who did networking on university and he had no idea what was wrong and he has a friend who is a server and network maintenance manager for a bank and he also had no idea what was wrong.

tl;dr: I fixed it.

Thanks for all the help everyone.
