Unfortunately, Roblox has gotten worse in moderation over the years. Around 2018 wasn’t a major deal for moderation except how random decals and some other stuff were being moderated unreasonably. No improvements at all. Roblox has ruined the moderation system even more with AI. Roblox moderation was sort of bad back then, now it is just much worse than ever. Nowadays, if you report somebody for scamming you, Roblox won’t do anything AT ALL. You can get away with scamming. ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE! Roblox needs to stop with the AI/Auto moderation and start hiring more Roblox Support human employees and human moderators. This is legit the reason why Roblox has become more endangering to children over the years. Its gotten so bad that David Bazsucki, the founder and CEO of Roblox has finally released a statement saying that if your worried for your kid’s safety, dont let them play Roblox. There are scammers and much more bad people out there responsible for this stuff and Roblox is deciding to pull the plug on their under 13 playerbase because apparently it is so hard to hire moderators. Its gotten to the point where we need to make our own moderation strategies on our own stuff that kids play on in Roblox to make sure no problems like these happen. We need to do something about this. ITS NOT THE KIDS FAULT, ITS THE BAD PEOPLES’ FAULTS FOR THIS.
100% agree, most of this moderation could use a bunch of improvement (not even just the in-game moderation.) For example I have posted a few developer discussions on the dev forum only for about 6/6 of them to have been taken down for not encouraging discussion (even though they have.)
I wonder if they see this.
This is an issue from 2018, which actually has been reported since 2011.
Do they care?
Maybe it’s the “We have something being made but don’t want to say anything about it” thing.
Or, maybe a “Our system is perfect and they are all wrong” thing.
Even the team gets a ton of stuff wrong, I emailed them once and they said my Exchange was declined because of a game i dont even own 
The fact that this is has been an issue since 2010 and we are now in 2025 (TWO AND A HALF DECADES LATER) it frankly appalling. It boggles the mind that ROBLOX can have stuff like the whole chargeback banwave debacle happen ON A REGULAR BASIS and still do precisely nothing about it. It makes being a ROBLOX dev an incredibly uncertain thing, and renders the potential career simply unviable.
ROBLOX needs to get their [ content deleted ] together and acknowledge that they have a problem. And then they need to fix it.
Bumping this thread for very obvious reasons. Appeals are unreliable and have no transparency, predators are everywhere and escaping moderation all the time, almost every automated system is faulty for one reason or another, the audio copyright checker is complete BS and completely destroys your audio upload cap, safe chat is a complete joke and needs an overhaul, etc.
Roblox moderation has both improved & gotten worse since this post, especially with the ban evasion ban that is STILL hitting many Roblox users
I know I’m late but just wanted to add to this thread that Roblox’s moderation practices is a big reason I’m no longer an active developer on the platform. The only reason I still visit the forum or site occasionally is because my old project (Adonis) is still actively maintained by the community, even though I don’t directly contribute any code to any Roblox-related projects anymore.
I don’t like how 0 roblox staff has even replied to this, and they’ve done nothing with this topic.
I guess I’m also going to fall into this downward spiral of constant rejection from Roblox support and losing a lot of progress on my account.
My account is vvorttexx1, and pretty much I was randomly terminated at around 2 AM for evading enforcement using another account. I rarely use my alt accounts for anything except testing my games in studio that require more than one player. I still had a game actively in development, and I had to unfortunately tell my scripter that I was terminated and didn’t know how to proceed in development.
This is such unfair treatment to people who actually try to provide for the platform either with development or spending money and actively playing games with no track record for anything that could consider someone a detriment to the platform. I’ve also been affected by the “Sexual Content” issue, along with other simple images (like a literal mine with a cross on it, from minesweeper) being flagged and getting me a warning multiple times. It’s so painful that the final nail in the coffin was a termination for something I had no control over, and my first appeal was already denied just a bit ago.
I’m going to try my best to see if I can push a human moderator to check my activity, or even talk to a moderator or staff to properly get my situation checked. If not, I may just feel like quitting the platform and stop game development entirely.
100% Agreed. ROBLOX’s Moderation is horrible at it’s peak. It’s not the same as it used to be years ago in the good old ROBLOX days when Telamon (Shedletsky) and some good admins were actively online and interacting with people. They don’t do anything anymore.
From @Roblox’s article that’s titled “More on our Removal of Vigilantes From Roblox”, it displays a screenshot of a report menu that has the functionality to be able to report violating content by highlighting and capturing the content.
However, I don’t see this for me:-
Some of my friends have it though, so is this some kind of an A/B test? I actually had it for a very short time last year, but otherwise since then, I have never got it. The article is clearly misleading everyone by making it seem like everyone got the functionality. I doubt this even works for people who has it but still.
In 2026, I am getting moderated (IP Infringement) for assets created about 10 years ago that I already appealed to be deleted at the start of 2025; Assets that I cannot delete or update on my own. There’s nothing I can do, yet my accounts is at risk for termination for a mistake I made a decade ago.
