Not sure (am not a lawyer). Although considering there’s ads on the website (although it’s been completely offline for a few days, maybe even longer, and the discord link is dead) it doesn’t provide him with much of a favour as he could be considered profiting off of roblox site assets. Whether Roblox would care enough to do something about it is a different story.
On a side note it does kind of feel like this has been abandoned? No responses to the thread in 2 weeks, all the socials have dead invites or haven’t been active since early July and the site itself has been down for god knows how long. Would be quite a shame if it has.
Agreed, I’ve seen multiple posts by them and I honestly thought they’d be much better now that they have received feedback from the community, but this is a really amateur operation, and doesn’t feel like the team of this project have actually even planned, from invalid and broken parsed JSON API outputs, constant downtime to not having a privacy policy (used to, but at least they have one now), it’s quite a mess.
Do you have anybody else who can fill your place while you’re gone? Just incase of something just like this? Or a major security fawl that could put user data at risk?
This is not CloudFlare’s fault, it seems like the webserver is down or incorrectly configured (5xx errors) and isitdownrightnow.com does not monitor CloudFlare that well anymore, it would be better if you was to check the official website https://cloudflarestatus.com/
You seem to not understand how CloudFlare functions and works,
CloudFlare does not block VPN or proxies, this is either an issue on your side or the webserver’s side or the owner has incorrectly set up their DNS records under the DNS tab
They don’t know how to make a website or take in any sort of feedback that they’re offered. If they continue to be stubborn, they will get nowhere and will only have a project that they want to use.
You’re saying that they just decided to randomly discontinue it without saying anything in this topic whatsoever? That’s just unbelievable and further solidifies my point…
Regardless, the Talent Hub will likely make their project irrelevant in the near future.
Former community manager here, RoStats did infact decide to shut down in the past 6 weeks, there was no notice on the forum. So this topic is now irrelevant.
Quietly shutting down a service considering aspects like User data is really not going to help with the reputation of this new project at all.
Quietly shutting it down without telling anybody giving advance warning shows the team as a whole gave little care to the users who actually used the website, let alone provided them money through AdSense among other things, and I doubt this mentality is going to change in the next project(s) that follow. It’s not a good one to have, especially when your next one involves actual R$ (whether Roblox’s TOS would even be ok with that idk)
At best, you should probably open-source the website now if you’re going to do nothing with it and let threads like these gather dust without any clear notice the site is gone now ¯_(ツ)_/¯
That’s one of the things i’m concerned about. They’ve literally just completely dropped off the forum/thread entirely without a single word, never had a proper Privacy Policy / Data policy implemented, and was farming more data through Google Ad services. I doubt he’ll be welcomed here with the same confidence again with their new “project”.
Yeah they’ve been running ads on it for the past couple months earning “revenue” from it. Wasn’t mentioned that well in the Privacy Policy but was there. As shown in this reply on the thread
Oh, so this whole project just ended up being an entire scam to extort people out of advertisement revenue? No wonder why the actual website itself was so bad!
could someone give me a quick summary on why people are saying that something’s wrong with RoStats since i’ve seen people talking about it in the replies
