i believe this is discontinued as i was in their server
They don’t know how to make a website or take in any sort of feedback that they’re offered. If they continue to be stubborn, they will get nowhere and will only have a project that they want to use.
You’re saying that they just decided to randomly discontinue it without saying anything in this topic whatsoever? That’s just unbelievable and further solidifies my point…
Regardless, the Talent Hub will likely make their project irrelevant in the near future.
Hello!
Former community manager here, RoStats did infact decide to shut down in the past 6 weeks, there was no notice on the forum. So this topic is now irrelevant.
Was the shutdown related to the new TalentHub?
What is it? Or do you guys want to keep it a secret until release
A Roblox crowdfunding site? That sounds… Interesting. Excited to see how it turns out
Brilliant! It already sounds shady enough…
You guys have worse reliability than Google when it comes to keeping services alive (and that is saying a lot)!
I’m still sad about the google glasses
Quietly shutting down a service considering aspects like User data is really not going to help with the reputation of this new project at all.
Quietly shutting it down without telling anybody giving advance warning shows the team as a whole gave little care to the users who actually used the website, let alone provided them money through AdSense among other things, and I doubt this mentality is going to change in the next project(s) that follow. It’s not a good one to have, especially when your next one involves actual R$ (whether Roblox’s TOS would even be ok with that idk)
At best, you should probably open-source the website now if you’re going to do nothing with it and let threads like these gather dust without any clear notice the site is gone now ¯_(ツ)_/¯
What happens to all the user data stored on their service? I wonder if they even wiped it…
That’s one of the things i’m concerned about. They’ve literally just completely dropped off the forum/thread entirely without a single word, never had a proper Privacy Policy / Data policy implemented, and was farming more data through Google Ad services. I doubt he’ll be welcomed here with the same confidence again with their new “project”.
Google Ad services? They were running ads on the site?
Yeah they’ve been running ads on it for the past couple months earning “revenue” from it. Wasn’t mentioned that well in the Privacy Policy but was there. As shown in this reply on the thread
Oh, so this whole project just ended up being an entire scam to extort people out of advertisement revenue? No wonder why the actual website itself was so bad!
I wouldn’t go as far as to accuse them of that honestly. They probably would’ve gotten very little through AdSense, at most $10-15.
Yikes.
This is not looking good for RoStats, and the creators/moderators.
Why was there no announcement? Why was there not a page regarding this on the website?
Can you guys provide some sort of explanation on what’s going on? What has happened to all the data?
I wouldn’t trust a single cent with any website affiliated with these people as this is very shady…
could someone give me a quick summary on why people are saying that something’s wrong with RoStats since i’ve seen people talking about it in the replies
There is zero transparency in this project, only a message from a former operator.
Still, 10-15 USD (7-10 GBP) is still something.
RoStats was a website which the developers referred to it as “Roblox LinkedIn”, the website kept on going down constantly, showing the Heroku error screen saying that something has crashed, the website came back up but it still had tons of faults, they had no privacy policy at all (which they moved to a Google Doc) and they closed it down again for a while as they “fix” some issues with the service.
They came back again, their API was complete rubbish, with invalid JSON being parsed and being incorrectly formatted, not only that previously they had no SSL/TLS encryption on the website at all.
They should at least issue a major apology in this topic. The few people who actually believed in their project should at least receive some form of verbal compensation.
By the way, @justice_romqxn wasn’t even an operator. The only proper “operator” I can think of is the largely incompetent ringleader himself (@MightyPart).
$10 to $15 could buy you a whole short-lived McDonald’s meal!
Website is down
