We currently have over a billion assets on the site, and hundreds of millions of users, and unfortunately some of their names are inappropriate.

Since we don’t retroactively filter everything ever created, applying the filter to searches prevents things like this from returning actual results.

This issue dearly affects me as users aren’t able to search up my username without it being censored.

Wait, but how about in-game leaderboard (usernames) I haven’t ever seen that it’s filtered.

This isn’t filtered because it’d cause serious problems in game - compared to search, which has minimal impact due to filtering.

But you still see inappropriate usernames. Why might it be filtered in search then if you are looking for it.
