Show off your UI designs

No such thing as triple A interface, it’s just about design skills.

You don’t have to be so arrogant about it.

Ignoring your egotism, your UI is pretty decent. Would be fitting for a Roblox quality FPS game. Could use some more identity and polishing of course but it’s a pretty decent FPS styled interface.

I’d also like to mention three things: the three most profitable Roblox games that pull in millions of USD annually, use cartoon based interfaces. Not quite sure why you’re singling out that specific genre or style of interface design. Secondly, maybe you should learn a little more about interface design before yelling at people about high-end UI and UX design. Finally, if you’re rude, people are going to see your work as trash even though it’s not, as you’re rude. People don’t like rude people, even if they’re good at their craft.

Despite the production quality of your UI, it’s just an average fps game UI. there is nothing to copy since it’s just a net average of every fps interface ever made before. The only mildly unique thing about it is the composition.

With that said, I am not too sure if you understand the concept of style. You know, for example, a realistic FPS-style UI would not fit in a typical roblox simulator. Yes UI designs in here don’t necessarily meet the standards of triple-A, but neither does yours.

I am not too sure if you understand the fact that for most people here game development is a passion and not necessarily a career option. Some people develop games because, you know, they just simply enjoy the process. There are teens out there that are making far more money than you ever will no matter what employment position you will have because they just developed fun games with “shitty cartoon uis” because UI is not what makes game profitable.

And if there is one thing I’m sure about, it’s that you need to wake up to reality and understand that you are just an average developer who makes UI designs in a block-building game mostly marketed for children. I don’t think you have the right to be arrogant about it, since you are most likely getting paid in robux and most likely getting replaced by ai in the next couple years.

I don’t know why you’re being so rude towards everyone, your UI is good, but if I ain’t making a AAA Game or an FPS Game I can keep the Cartoony Style

Also I feel like I already saw that GUI in another Game, and it’s also too similar to all others, almost all have that, so you can’t own Copyright on it, you have Copyright on the asset but not on the Layout, which is the most common

Unless you provide proof of it and just because somebody copied my UI doesn’t mean I lose my rights to copyright, I’d like for you to link the game so I can appropriately file a DMCA takedown.

I’m just as impressed with your third grade reading comprehension level as with your mediocre UI. As for your copyright obsession, I don’t know who hurt you, but you should seek professional help. No one ain’t copying your UI, it’s not that special.

I simply said the layout is very similar to the one of a lot of other Games (mainly outside of Roblox) so in this case YOU would get DMCAd (if they could simply DMCA you even though they can’t)

i looked at his portfoilio. his SCP ui is about as good as yours if not better.

And I’ll so impressed from how much you still want to go ahead with this argument even though you know you’re wrong:

I’ll show you a good Cartoony UI:

I think you are just mad because nobody recognizes your talent because of your terrible personality or lack thereof. I wouldn’t be surprised if the only people who can stomach being around you are your parents.

/thread rant

Firstly, my portfolio is obviously outdated (July 2020 was the last time I uploaded UI to it) I don’t use DevForum for portfolios.

About your UI, since you seem have a superiority complex, maybe you just need your flaws pointed out. Firstly, the positioning of the title is completely off, it looks out of place. It’s smushed against the top and the padding between the navbar and the title are improper. Secondly, the text quality and readability is overall poor. The descriptor for the selected firearm is blurred and too dark, the padding between the firearm descriptor element itself is off. The title is too close to the subtitle and the description is too close to the subtitle.

The padding and font issue apply to the profile element as well, the padding between the title and the border is too different from the profile element and the border. The profile element is also not centered, its slightly above the midline. It’s also worth mentioning that the circle for the level is cropped at the top.

Moving onto the textures you used for both navigation bars, they poorly blend into the background. There’s an obvious cut and obvious copy and paste. If you are going to use this navigation style, the sub navbar should be inline with the wording of the primary navbar.

Moving onto the statistics, how you have the numbers written out is inconsistent. Half have a tip half don’t. Furthermore, the white bar overlaps with the border by 2 pixels. Moving onto the graph, the numbers within are too light and too dark. Poor UX for people with smaller screens or who have a harder time seeing. The “0m” and “1000m” should also have the same replicated padding as the text elements for the statistics bars.

Your clearly never took any color theory as you choose a black texture for a black background with dark grey line art yet choose a black that was different from the primary bg. Talking about the bg, it’s plain. There’s nothing to it outside of a few plated lines, which are a different transitional gradient from the rest of the gradients.

My dearest friend, not a single one of these flaws would exist on even first wireframe mockup of a high-end video game interface, yet you have multiple. Don’t go insulting people claiming to be superior at something you clearly are still learning. As I’ve said before, your UI is decent, unoriginal, but decent. However, your arrogance and disrespect just makes everyone dislike you and makes everyone see your interface as completely garbage, when it isn’t. Your personality heavily shapes how people view your skillset and you’re not going to ever get employed for long with the attitude you have.

Now to break down some of your points:

“If you don’t “want” real money for your UIs you clearly don’t know how to make real UI.”

That’s makes zero sense, people volunteer to make interfaces quite often and do enjoy making pretty good interfaces for Robux.

“when I mean style I’m not talking about genre,”

Style and genre are often interchanged when discussing interface design, although they are two different things, it’s habit of designers to mix them.

“Unless you provide proof of it and just because somebody copied my UI doesn’t mean I lose my rights to copyright”

Your interface is pretty unoriginal and the layout has been used many times, it’s possible that the other person just mistook your layout for another person.

“Like I already said, you’re just mad somebody is actually better than you at making UI and so is everybody”

No, you’re the only person in this thread that thinks you’re some hot stuff. You’re a mediocre, low-level UI designer arguing on a Roblox DevForum over your superiority complex relating to your beginner level, polish-needing interface.

“And another thing is that his UI is actually worse than mine and you fail to recognise that because you’re a poor excuse for a UI designer.”

Recognize*, also my outdated interfaces from 3 years ago are on-par with your interface in terms of flaws. I never claimed to be a high-end interface designer though.

Firstly, what the hell defines a Triple A UI?

Secondly, this is Roblox not a Triple A game company looking to hire UI designers, a lot of people here like to make UI that fits different styles of games.

You may like playing Triple A style games on Roblox but not everyone does, making cartoony UI means children play your game, and there are alot of children on Roblox.
Which means you get more players and that can also mean you make more money.

The currency UI for my upcoming first person horror game, Classrooms. There are two currencies in the game: Credits and Diamonds. The amount you will have are displayed here. Players will start with 0 of each.

(“so this will be my best ui design ever :)”)

please don’t be that rude to people for not focusing of a certain UI design, let them design what they want… i dont get what the hell you were up to but you’ve gotten pretty toxic

roblox isn’t made for AAA games so all of us do not have to be AAA developers :skull:

edit: how the hell is a discord-style chat bubble meme of an anime girl still getting likes :skull:

edit 2.0: STOP

I don’t have the most unique, nor the greatest UI style, especially since I use Roblox’s basic UI tools; however, I still love my style personally, and I know others do as well.

It is fairly consistent throughout my games, but it does change a bit. Especially in my newest and current project, where I ditched the UICorners for sharper edges (only for that project. The sharp corners fit its theme)

Here are the screenshots

Sword Battle Game

Zombie Survival Game

Newest and most recent project (not public yet. Also don’t have much done, so there aren’t many screenshots I can get)
