Every time I open a place in Studio, regardless of the account, it looks like the skybox images are getting corrupted and replaced with red noise, random other textures, and some text. Lighting does not have any skybox inside but still displays the weird textures. This also affects the glass, which reflects the random texture. All GUI text also becomes pixelated.
This only seems to be happening in Studio on Mac devices. All my games suffer this bug when opened in Studio.
This started happening between the 20th and the 23rd.
I have my studio quality set to 21 for both modes.
I don’t know what my graphics card is.
Every time I join studio, in every place, this issue happens. Basically, the sky and other textures fail, so one of the tools image is put into the sky “replacing” this. There’s also another issue that the ambience turns black too.
The bug happens, as I said before, in every place of Roblox Studio I join, I cannot do anything to fix it or anything.
I’m confident this isn’t a graphics issue but a problem with shaders and textures, as this same issue happened in Roblox games when I realised some of my shaders were removed randomly.
I think this bug is kinda related to shaders or textures, as once I had the same problem but on all Roblox games itself, in which some shaders randomly disappeared and instead some stuff had rainbow texture. I discovered later it was a shader issue and I got the shaders back from some other friend.
When I edited my shaders in roblox studio, it kinda worked for some time until Roblox Studio stopped working, and thus I had to reinstall Roblox Studio with this same issue shown above.
I’ve reinstalled Roblox Studio, still with the same issue.
Checked video drivers, they are pretty fine as I just did check them.
I changed my Graphics mode but the only problem that got fixed was the error log.
Here is a picture of my current settings of the graphics card. (Pretty sorry, but you must use some kind of translate as I cannot translate all the information currently.)
Graphics AMD Radeon HD 6970M 1024 MB
This bug started happening on the 20th or so, it’s kinda related to the issue about Unable to open Roblox Studio on macOS, but I was redirected to do this post as it was off-topic as the moderators said.
This seems to be “solvable” by adding lots of skyboxes and then removing them, however this causes the text in the toolbox to show up as squares (as seen in the image below).
Hi @danopro3, I’m able to repro this on Mac and am looking into it. It seems to occur when using opengl. Can you check if Metal is supported on your machine? In Roblox Studio Settings → Rendering → Graphics Mode, choose Automatic (or Metal)
@Qiblox
Thanks for your advice, I tried both of the engines (Metal and Automatic), in the Automatic the bug seems to fade away during a few seconds once you join, though, once you touch a key all letters disappear, if you try to replace the skybox the letters re-appear as pixeled and the shadows start appearing from nowhere, making the whole map dark. Once you close and re-open Studio the skybox is replaced again by a random texture.
When I open any existing place or a new baseplate, some/all parts are black. This is a huge issue for me because when programming my game I need to see the map. I already had to cancel a scripting commission due to this problem. If anyone has a solution I would greatly appreciate it!
The problem there is that the ambience changes to full black, go to Lighting and change the Ambience. It should be fixed with that, as I can confirm that it has worked. Though it might go black again when you open Studio.
This issue seems to be happening on Sierra 10.12.6 and below, as KeysOfFate has just the next version I do have. Cannot confirm though, but just a note.
Note also that, in the first post of danopro3 he gave an example of 10.13.6 so yeah…
@Champoozi
If you only have the black ambience issue, it is a temporary fix. Let Roblox Developers fix it though, as they should know more than us, of course.
Sadly, I do not know anything about the scrambled words. It must something related with ambience or something, try re-installing studio or something. That’s all I can suggest you for now.
