Not Xbox or Mobile. Just released on PC yesterday.
In case you’re asking about the LOD support/etc., not about the fix @Khanovich made - yes, it’s live on all platforms.
Pretty sure this is the same issue that @Khanovich fixed - it could manifest in the same behavior at least. So let’s assume it’s fixed, and please post here if you see it again.
I’m having an issue with this. Visualized here:
noticeable loss/change in quality along this red line. About 128 studs from where character spawned.
The problem is that I want to spawn an character and immediately remove it, because I have a scrolling camera that uses WASD, and I don’t want a player’s character to be on the map. (Think about strategy game cameras)
When I remove the character, I would expect the LOD to reflect where the camera is, but it seems like it only reflects where the character was
I’ve tested this both online and in Play Solo. Is there anything I can do to prevent this?
You can set camera.Focus and it’ll calculate LOD using that.
edit
lighting is also calculated using camera.Focus
Ah, thanks. I’ll try that.
EDIT: Yep, that works! Thanks!
Is there any news on adjusting LOD parameters? My team and I are working on a game that uses a lot of terrain, but with the current LOD settings it starts to look chunky and ugly, which is the last thing we want the islands to feel like.
Nothing that would ship this year I’m afraid.
