Do you think everyone would consider replying? Or anyone at all? You could still reply with improvement even after marking the “good” option. You are not bound to mark the imaginary “fine” option and then reply.
Plus, the main focus of creation feedback is already to provide motivationn while also providing improvement options. And as RocketSlither did say, that “fine” option feels harsh to which I do agree, it’s just better to mark the “good” option.
Generally speaking, when you ask for feedback for visuals, models or anything graphics related, everyone can give a general opinion since we all visually see things all the time. However, only a small subset of those individuals actually have the knowledge to be able to articulate specific reasons to why what they’re looking at looks off. This is why “I don’t know” is actually a very valid response in this case, because they actually don’t know why what they’re looking at is off. Ignoring those opinions within the poll is very ignorant as you’ll get skewed poll results like in this case since people will choose the option that aligns closer to their actual view. If you’re only looking for feedback, I’d recommend removing the poll and just asking directly for feedback to be responded with.
At the end of the day, I’d say that most important people (i.e. players and individuals checking out your portfolio / looking to hire) would agree with the general consensus that a 1-10 poll would give. However, those people will rarely give feedback as the former is even less experienced and the latter doesn’t have the time nor care to give someone random feedback. If you don’t meet their standard they’re onto the next person.
Sorry if that came off harsh, but please consider my words.
Anyways to get to my opinion the model within the original screenshot. I would also say that this model falls within the fine category probably around a 6 out of 10 for gun models. When I look at the screenshot provided the main thing I see that’s off is the proportions. Here’s a screenshot of a Spas 12 full stock next to a foldable stock:
You can see the stock is 1) thicker and 2) shorter. And the reason it’s shorter is that the part of the stock that makes contact with the shoulder actually contributes to the length when folded ontop of the gun.
Since it’s un characteristically round and also the proportions are off.
Also the trigger guard is kinda off, too large it seems.
Outside of what I said prior, I’d still say that the model is at max a 8/10. In my opinion, the gun is simplified in certain parts and has a low poly feel. (The grip and behind the metal grated part are pretty flat and simple). That isn’t to say it’s necessarily a bad thing (considering that we’re on Roblox), but I still prefer more detailed guns. Also the gun doesn’t look like it’s textured and I’m pretty skeptical about renders as any model that has a mat in blender comes out way less shiny when put in studio.
I would not consider your words here as I am looking for a rounded answer. I do not want people picking options in between which would end up causing confusion.
As for this, it’s a custom design choice. I could make it thicker and shorter though.
I’ll remove that, thanks.
I took inspirstion from a photo which had those dimensions. I’ll send the image and the reference model tomorrow so that you could see that the proportions are indeed, not off.
I will remove the rounded stump and thicken the stock and send you a picture tomorrow.
I do not want hyper realistic guns in my game and thus I kept a low poly - high poly style. Yes, this IS for a game and not meant to have hyper realistic texture elements to it at all.
