Struggling to get active players in my games

I have tried sponsoring my game on roblox, advertising on social media, and even sharing it on discord servers, yet I fail to retain a large amount of active players in my games.

I’ve only had a small group of maybe 1-3 players actively play my games for maybe about a week or so until they eventually never came back

There is something wrong with my games, what is it?

I have abandoned the following games already, but I think it would be useful as material for feedback for my upcoming game.
Obby Zone 2 ⭐ BETA - Roblox (Game I sponsored the most)
[Rate My Game] Booth World 🌟 Alpha - Roblox

Escape the Shooter - Roblox (New game were working on)

Obby Zone 2 seems really fun, I would suggest make the lighting less bright and the music less loud

Can you share a screenshot? Of analytics and your ad information such as bid, amount, how many days, etc. That would really help decide

Unfortunately, I have the same problem as you. So I’m unlikely to be able to help much, but I’ll share everything I know.

Based on what you said, your most promoted game was Obby Zone 2, and it got around 3K visits. I assume you spent around $5–10 on advertising, and it ran for a day or two. I’ve talked to some developers who have millions of Robux, and they say that launch ads usually cost them at least $50 per day, ideally for a week. But that’s way too expensive for a beginner or average developer — and it doesn’t explain how some random, low-effort games thrown together by a kid using the toolbox manage to hit 5K CCU.

Meanwhile, I spent $25 and launched a large-scale campaign on Discord, TikTok, YouTube, and so on — and still ended up with zero results.

I’ve watched videos from well-known developers talking about how they got started. One of them is itsMuneeeb (known for creating the avatar catalog). At first, like many others, he struggled and no one played his games. He decided to make something viral — at the time, camping simulators were trending. (Nowadays, it’s stuff like brainrot games.) Thanks to those, he managed to build his first solid player base.

Over the past two years — that’s how long I’ve been making games — I’ve developed 12 projects. And only two of them get about 5–10 players a day. If you search the name of those games in Roblox, they often show up on the first or tenth try, even though I barely advertised some of them. I have no idea why this happens.

Alvin sums it up pretty good

Rate My Game is a bit boring, but it would be fun with friends. Chicken and egg kinda situation as you need players for it to be somewhat fun.

Obby Zone 2 is pretty fun, but I don’t think many players have the attention span of that initial intermission, so perhaps throwing players right into a game as soon as they join a new server will help the game grow and give players a dopamine rush at the beginning of the game so they stay for longer

The selected period is from July 2024 to August 2024

I bid 10 ad credit for two days for one period and another 10 ad credit for another two days on another period.
