Excellent!!! I have been waiting for this for a long time!!!

However I am trying to test the functionality from my iOS 18.3.1, Roblox client 2.668.658 (most recent update from this morning) and it crashes on error 260 -certainly after the beta and HapticInstances configured:

Hello @IJustDavi
We don’t support publish to client yet, right now we only support testing inside studio. But we will launch client beta soon.
If you see these errors in your existing place, please remove the HapticEffect instance, it should be able to join.

i didnt know you could in the first place, also why is it an instance? shouldn’t this be like a UserInputService thing or something?

edit: nvm i read the post

It’s an instance because a lot of people like things that can be done by just inserting an instance instead of writing code to do it.

Examples include: UIDragDetectors, DragDetectors, ProximityPrompts, etc

I’ve been waiting for HapticService to be redone for quite some time now so that’s great!!
However, It doesn’t seem to vibrate or anything inside the sample placefile when i’m playing with a PS5 controller wired to my computer. Does it not work for PS5 controllers at the moment? I’ve also tried playing with the emulation aswell.

Hello @DreamysDead,
It has been a know issue on MacOS 15+, the PS5 controller will not work. We will work on a fix for that. Is that what your current platform is?

I’m on a Windows 11 computer. I’ve tested to see if it was just my controller, so I downloaded haptic testers, and it did work. I also made my own script to test out haptics with UserInputService and still no luck.

@DreamysDead
Thanks for the report, we will record an issue on our side and work on a fix.

I cannot wait to see how a variety of games implement these controls. I’d also like to see if platform specific support, like with Playstations audio through the controller, will have API considered.

We’re so back in the big 2025!

I just had the funniest idea. (That being a game where haptics are constantly in use no matter what you are doing)

Awesome work guys!

I am still a pretty new dev, but these updates the past few months have been amazing!

This is a very personal story, but I was lamenting that Roblox couldn’t make haptics work in detail, and then the next day this update announcement came out! That’s amazing.

There were plenty of questions following Testing, but now that this has been implemented, can we expect any updates on Adaptive Triggers anytime soon?

Thank you, I’ve been waiting for this update for a while!!

Will we able to preview the haptics using the controller, vr and device emulator?? It’d be great if so, as I don’t have a controller currently.
